“Central Location + Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

We were staying around the corner in the Holiday Inn. Cental San Jose is a place to spend as little time as possible ..... get out the the countryside as soon as possible, the town is drab and has little to offer. However we were directed to this restaurant for dinner, not a place you would stumble upon by chance. The service is friendly and the food it good ... I had the largest ever chicken salad. Low prices, friendly service and well prepared.

For the price, $10 US, you got a 3 course meal with an alcoholic drink. Pub quality food, clean, friendly service.

“Nice quiet restaurant with great breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

I ate here twice during my stay in San Jose, once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both times I was perfectly satisfied with the food and service. There aren't a lot of tourists here, it definitely feels more like a local place. The prices were pretty reasonable and they had a good selection of food, from the more traditional Costa Rican fare to regular sandwiches and other dishes. It's only a block or two north of Parque Espana, so it's far enough away from the central part of town to avoid high prices and big crowds. If you go there for breakfast there will likely be a good amount of people there, but you shouldn't have trouble walking in and getting quick service.

“Enjoyable dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

There are certainly more upscale restaurants in San Jose but for a good meal at reasonable big city prices, this place is hard to beat. Our server, Maribel, was most helpful.
With seven or nine variations of Sea Bass preparations, the menu was quite extensive, the atmosphere very nice (despite a loud group in the bar area), and the location convenient to downtown.

“Awesome value, great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

We ate here our first few days in San Jose for breakfast, on the advice of our hotel's concierge. It is out of the way and has a "local's favourite" feel. The menu is wide-rangeing and great value. And they have espresso coffee, a rarity in CR. Service was great too, food yummy and generous portions.
