This Spoon Restaurant was in Sabana Sur,,, Not bad but just basic fast food…. The Spoon Restaurant in San Jose is much better and they wait on you at the table, good service there…and food was excellent there too….always busy there, very popular, here you order at the counter and come back when name called…Opt for the downtown San Jose Spoon, you will not be disappointed. Would definitely return there but not herein Sabana Sur.

We were there at Christmas time and got to enjoy the delicious tamales. The other stuff was really good too!

Small local restaurant near museum and theatre. Reasonably priced. Servings were quite big...to much to finish in one seating.

Spoon used to be one of San Jose's deli jewels as it was famous for its cakes and pastries. With its change of ownership and expansion, it has become an average place to have lunch or go for coffee. Prices have also gone up, which creates a contrast with loosing their edge in their quality pastries. The good news is that they added more choices to their menus and you can find a wide variety of options to chose from. I had the classic chicken salad and it was still as good as I remembered. Bottom line is, if this is your first visit to Spoon you will certainly like it. But if you are of the old crowd who used to make the long line at Spoon San Pedro or waited for a parking spot at the old Spoon Pavas, you will always compare what was then and is now.

Great Costa Rican food, try their fish casado- super yummy! They also have pastries and pies to have as snacks. Also good- the guanábana juice.
