I took a day tour with Grayline to Manuel Antonio National Park. There was an early wake-up at 5am to be picked up at 6:15 from the hotel. I am NOT a morning person but this was totally worth it. Leli or Lili, the guide, was really knowledgeable and did a terrific work pointing out not only tour-related things, but also talking about Costa Rican history, culture, and society as we passed through the Costa Rican country side. I would definitely take another tour with her. The Tour takes you on a 45 minutes walk through the Manuel Antonio Park - I got to see monkeys, sloths, a big spider, and an iguana on this tour. Then you get to enjoy approximately 2 hours on the beaches - try Playa Espadilla to the right as you go down to the beach - nice waves and it looks more like a tropical beach than the other one, that's got warmer water and is more protected. Breakfast and lunch were good, and the group dynamic of our trip amazing. Drinking guaro (Costa Rica's national drink) with friends from Mexico, Argentina, and U.S made the trip back to San Jose an easy ride back. Thanks Lili, Grayline, and thank you friends from Veracruz, Buenos Aires, and Chicago.
