We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour with Adriana. We are not coffee drinkers so she was able to adjust the tour to take us to a mixology bar that was very entertaining and tasty! Every food place we tried was excellent as well. Adriana was on a first name basis with all of the owners as well as many people we passed in the streets. She spoke English very well, took delight in explaining the culture of Costa Rica and how it tied into the food, and she answered our questions thoughtfully. It was a great way to spend the evening learning about the culture from a native Costa Rican while enjoying a delicious experience. We did this the first night of the trip and it helped us have a foundation for the rest of our trip.

Food walking tours are my favorite way to learn about a new city and connect with a country's food culture. I've taken "foodie tours" from New York to Copenhagen, but none have come close to the experience my friend and I had in San Jose with Foodie Tours Costa Rica. Carefully selected restaurants and amazing taste treats all presented with knowledge and enthusiasm by Adriana. The supplemental coffee workshop was both tasty and eye opening (which certainly helped with our jet lag), and should not be missed. If you have time to do only one thing in San Jose, make it a tour with Adriana. You won't be disappointed.

We love to eat and we have eaten at many great restaurants around the world. So undoubtedly we wanted to experience the food scene in San Jose. Adriana was kind to pick us up from the hotel as she was concerned about the rain. She is very sweet, friendly, and more importantly passionate about the local food! We went to a nice coffee shop and a couple restaurants. Everything was delicious and made with local ingredients. She sat and had some food with us; it was just like you dine with your friend. It was a great fun experience. Please do not be intimidated by the prices. In this case, it is WELL worth it! Top-notch food and services! A couple days later, she sent us photos from our tour (we were too busy eating!). One of the best tours we had on our trip!

A friend and I booked this tour with Adriana and we were blown away. Adriana is a true foodie and she selected great restaurants, cafés and bars in the cool Escalante neighbourhood. The food was very carefully prepared with fresh ingredients and a lot of character. The tour offered a great mix between thoughtful food, delicious coffee and drinks - highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I came to Costa Rica for the first time and booked a farm to table food tour with Adriana. The first stop was the best specialty coffee shop in San Jose. Juan, the owner, made the experience amazing and the coffee was delicious. We were able to try several different coffee types and he gave us a great explanation on each of the types and how they are made and what makes them different. He also is a chef and makes some AMAZING desserts, don’t miss those. It’s also right next to a really cool DJ school, ask him who DJ Bearhug is. Last two stops were 2 amazing restaurants with some of the best food we had our entire trip. Adriana and chefs from the restaurant will speak to you about the history behind some of the dishes, and one chef even grew 70% of his produce in his farm 15 minutes away. Food was fresh and Adriana makes the experience feel like you’re a local by the end of the night. Afterwards we walked around some more and got a great in depth tour of Barrio Escalante that we would have been so sad had we missed. She has several recommendations of places as well throughout Costa Rica, you must take a tour with Adriana! We can’t wait to come back and do another! Would absolutely recommend!!
