“Great way to start a Costa Rican Adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2009

We stayed at Casa Lima on our way into Costa Rica, and it was amazing!
The rooms were large and airy, the courtyard / garden area was beautiful,
and they have a number of amazing pets (like a monkey and a few beautiful parrots.)
The food was also excellent, with tons of fresh fruit and tasty breads.
The best reason to stay here though is the amazing customer service:
We forgot our hair dryer and they ran up a brand new one up to the room,
A second example is that we needed to make it to church in the morning at a specific time,
and the staff called around to multiple churches / friends to find a church that fit our needs.
Then to top it all off they arranged our taxi and everything worked perfectly.

I stayed in Casa Lima for a weeks time and I was blown away with the immense detail that they have put into the place. The minute you walk into the bed and breakfast you feel as though you have been transcended to another place, where all is beautiful and good. There garden is spectacular with all different kinds of exotic plants. The rooms were super cozy and I could hear the waterfall all night long, which was very soothing. The rooms have a lot of air circulating, I was never hot. The food was good and the staff was phenomenal. All in all it was a fabulous trip and Casa Lima made it even better. These pictures just don't do the place justice. I recommend you go and check it out for yourselves.

I have been to Costa Rica several times now. This time I wanted to stay away from downtown and Casa Lima was just what I hoped it would be. It is charming and romantic. It is in a great location, walking distance to several restaurants, shops, etc. Ideal for someone who is there to tour different regions of Costa Rica . The Front desk staff was very helpful with the tours and directions on how to get to different places… Overall very satisfied! Will recommend and will return….

Casa Lima was a fabulous bed & breakfast! The rooms were immaculate and the decor resembled the ambiance that Cost Rica exudes. We were extremely relaxed as we enjoyed the courtyard with its beautiful flora and fauna. The faculty was extremely hospitable allowing us to experience an at home atmosphere which was inviting.

I found this bed and breakfast to be beyond my expectations - the service was wonderful. Though it was a bit tricky to find coming from the airport - I believe the overall lack of street signs in Costa Rica was more responsible for our trouble than the location itself - once we found the American Embassy we were set. The courtyard at this B&B was absolutely beautiful and the sound of running water set a peaceful tone to fall asleep to at night. That said, our room was located near the entrance and the walls were fairly thin so we did hear a bit of foot traffic and conversations throughout our stay. The decoration though was very thoughtful and the access to downtown San Jose with our rental car very simple.

Stayed here for springbreak adventure tours with my son. Was a disappointment despite good reviews. Location is good, we can actually walk to store w/out fear of being mugged. Room was good size, and linens smell clean. Shower area not clean, grime around but middle area was clean, no hot water. The hotwater canister cannot even sustain 1 shower, and they give you second hand(used) soap. Yes!! believe it or not, we arrived at night and when we discovered it was dried up used soap, the owner was already asleep. No phones or intercom in room. Tour picked us up early the next day so I thought they would realize their oversight and give us toiletries, but no, they made the beds and tidied up but no toiletries. Again the owner was asleep. I had to totally scrub those soaps (raking them small) to use them. Finally, foundcleaning lady on the 3rd day, who could not find small shampoo bottle, but found a new bar of soap. Communication is English is almost impossible here. Was overcharged on my credit card but that was luckily refunded and resolved, since I complained about the soap incident. There are other competitive places to stay in Costa Rica.
