“Excellent company”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

Very professional. We rafted the upper Pacuare River for a day trip. The river is beautiful, rapids fun, and great service. Breakfast and lunch were included in our trip as well as a free shuttle pick up from San Jose. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the trip excellent. Highly recommend going with this company.

“best white water rafting experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

I've been white water rafting twice before this experience, and thought this was the best white water rafting experience so far. The scenery was stunningly beautiful, the rapids were fun, and we rafted for about 4 hours. Excellent value for the money.

The excursion was very safe, and guides were very knowledgeable and knew their stuff. Our guide was Matias (I think the other guides may have been more fun, but we couldn't really complain with Matias). The equipment was safe and it was obvious that safety was paramount for the operations.

There was variety at breakfast and the food was pretty good, especially for being included in the price. Lunch sucked though, and it didn't seem like there was enough to go around.

The whole process was very professionally run.

There were lockers to put your stuff in, but I wouldn't really trust it.

The bathroom facilities are relatively clean, and there is hot water available to take a shower.

Excellent tip: we got picked up in San Jose, and then got dropped off in Arenal, for free. The drop off in Arenal saved us from having to arrange paid transportation from San Jose to Arenal, which was our next destination anyway.

A highly recommended experience with excellent value!

Dear DelfinAndOso, Thanks for joining our trip and taking your time to write about it. We always take note on any comments, complaints and recommendations from our clients. The quality meals we serve are very good, I'm sorry about the quantity you complained about. If you can send me the specific day you went it will help me a lot.

Sincerely,

“Best white water rafting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2014

We have been white water rafting a couple times before but this was the best one by far. There was rapid after rapid and each more exciting than the one before. Our group had 2 rafts with 2 guides and one in a kayak. My family was in one raft and since we had some experience the guide took us directly in the rapids. Our guide Diego was excellent. Midway though the trip we stopped for a fruit snack provided by the guides. We were picked up at our hotel and brought to the river then stopped for lunch on the way back. Overall excellent experience

“Finally we saw that beautiful bird.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2014

We finally saw the bird that it is everywhere in souvenirs: The Toucan or Tucan. Very nice experience with our guide Mauricio. We felt safe all the time. Don't miss this rafting experience at Sarapiqui river. Full of emotions and beautiful surroundings. Lunch is included. Nice natural juices. I suggest to let people choose what to eat. They give you a nice main course with many different sides. But its good. We found it kind of expensive but you forget that when you enjoy I like we did. Buy the CD from the photographer. Very nice pictures while you are in the rapids to show later to your friends and he gives you some extra pictures of birds and landscapes. Don't forget your water shoes and a bag for your wet clothes. A change of clothes and shoes or sandals. Sunblock is needed even if its cloudy. I recommend to force the guide to talk about safety in the shadow not under the sun. It was painful. I will never forget this tour.

Dear JoseCespedes,
Thanks for paddling with us on the Sarapiquí and glad you could see one of several types of toucans. As an advice always check our list of "What to Bring" and/or "Recommended Gear" depending if you bought the trip directly or through another agency.

Pura vida,

“Priceless memories and experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2014

My wife and I had never white water rafted before but after this trip we will definitely be looking to do it again. The water is very clean and clear. Our guide said that if he forgets to bring water he will just drink it right out of the river. He was very knowledgeable about the river and wildlife. We did the 2 day, 1 night trip which I thought was better than rafting the 19 miles or so all at once. Since we elected for the overnight trip we had time to enjoy just floating down the river. This is more of an experience than just a rafting trip! We took time to get out of the raft and swim in a waterfall, swim in the river, and jump into the raging rapids! Lunch was provided on both days which consisted of authentic Costa Rican food!

For the overnight we had a family style dinner of rice and chicken (iguana as they told us ;) ) There is also a "bar" where you can get wine, beer, and hard liquor. The following morning we woke up early to walk up the 800+ steps across the river for another view of the river valley. Do not attempt this walk if you hate profusely sweating and don't like bugs, spiders, etc... Very cool little trail that goes up the bluff and if you are adventurous you would find it worthwhile. After that we had breakfast (which was also very good) consisting of eggs and sausage and did some zip lining on 4 lines which I actually found better than other zip lining trips because you actually have to break on the line. I have been to other places where they actually frown upon this.

The room we had was nothing spectacular and the bed a little hard but we were only there to sleep so it didn't really bother me. We were also dead tired anyway from all the activities.

If you are a thrill seeker or just want to experience Costa Rica PURA VIDA this trip is for you!
