“Great food with service to match”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2014

We have been going to La Divina Comida for the last 3.5 years. We were customers back when it was a smaller establishment, in a lower rent district about 3km from its current location. Back then it had outstanding service and food, but the location was not up to their food and service.

When they moved to their current location in Avenida Escazú, they grew from a 10 table restaurant to a 30 table restaurant with a private dinning area. For a year or so after their move they had the outstanding location and food, but the service level decreased to being just "okay."

I can happily say that as of our latest meal they have finally achieved what I am sure was their goal when they moved, to have the location, food, and service all be outstanding. On the night we went the location was not as outstanding as it would normally be because there was some periodic chirping of something that sounded like the noise that fire alarms make when the battery is too low and needs to be replaced. Still, that issue I am sure will be resolved by the time of your visit.

One final point, this restaurant is not really geared for families with little kids. I would recommend children be 10 or older.

“Great presentation and good flavors”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2014 via mobile

Great restaurant; I liked the formal dining, low music ambience. The flavors of balsamic vinegar and honey on the sauces where awesome. The presentation of the plates was excelent; a little pricy but worth it!

“Great place to go in Escazu but a bit Pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2014

We have had dinner here 3x now and it has been very consistent with is quality, price and presentation. Now it is not a cheap place to eat so you are not going to go here everyday. It is what I call Fu-Fu food. In other words very high end stuff. As far as high end food goes the price for what you get is pretty good.

Let us begin with the food. We were here on the day we went to Cartago. We stopped in for dinner. There were 4 of us so the bill was up there.

“Has nothing to do with Peruvian ... still very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2014

We expected to dine in a Peruvian restaurant, but it's much more Fusion than Latin-American/Peruvian. Could also be that the menu during the day offers more (Peruvian?) choices, but for dinner they only serve two optional set menus.
Which both are very good: we had a very tasty carrot soup as well as grilled squids (the sauce had too much honey, though); followed by lomito steak as well as entrecôte (both delicious, but why would you serve entrecôte with spaghetti, anyway...); followed by dessert. We both had a copa de vino tinto and a bottle of San Pelegrino and walked away a 100 bucks lighter, but pretty satisfied.
