We booked a 10 day trip through CRT and it was perfect. Poas for a day, then Arenal to Monteverde to Manuel Antonio. Their drivers were all courteous and professional and really went above and beyond. 2 of them went off the beaten path a bit when shuttling us between hotels to let us get some great photo opportunities and see some wildlife we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Their prices were very reasonable and they helped us pick out hotels that suited us perfectly at each stop along the way.

David from CostaRican Trails packaged everything to our specifications for a week long trip in Costa Rica. He was excellent in booking everything that we desired to do and giving us plenty of information. Everything was done through about 3 emails. Would highly recommend if your spanish isn't great and you only have a short time in Costa Rica. CostaRican trails helped us maximize our time while in CR.

We have been in Costa Rica for a 4 week trip, travelling from coast-to-coast with many tours pre-arranged.
CostaRican Trails met us at the airport with a pack on our first transfer from the airport to our San Jose hotel. Throughout our trip, everyone we met from the company was friendly and all arrangements worked smoothly. We had a couple of tiny issues, each time relaying them to CostaRican Trails, and each time being handled by them very swiftly. They have great efficiency and focus on customer satisfaction - we HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. They made our trip run very smoothly. Thanks.

First, dont go to san jose duRing Holy week usually school april vaction week but the city closes the few days before the good friday then the next week usually is holy week/Easter... the entire city shuts down, no alcohol is served inrestaurants, bars are closed, and
grocery stores wont sell it either....even If you do find a restaurant open! Even the locals were headed to the beach. The qlocals that we're there we're asking why the travel agent had you here for 2 days for the start of holy week! I was informed by a friend which I thought I should have been informed and educated by crtrails about the holiday and should have been redirected way before itineraries were finalized. Then after Iinformed crtrails, something should have been compromised with moving hotels to adifferent destination so at least we could go to thebeach instead of being stuck in a hotel for 2 days with nothing open in the entire city. The transportation was great on way to the beach but terrible on the way back. The van we had Saturday on the way back from Tierra suennos to the airport was terrible the seats were all buckled from bending springs and it made a very very uncountable 4 hour ride back. Transportation is expensive and frankly we expected more from cr trails.
On a good note,
once we got to the caribbean side, the cabinas called Tierra suennos could not be any more  accommodating...they were excellent. Rooms were immaculate and quaint. Food and area perfect walking distance not far from towns and we were across from the best beach around playa Chiquita . The owners and workers were perfect and enjoyed our company as well . The gardens and plants were gorgeous and there were monkeys, sloths, and all kinds of wildlife on the grounds. We even cooked a BBQ for the owners and staff to show our appreciation. Overall we had a good time but I have to admit I was not satisfied with arrangements with holy week situation in city and the old uncomfortable van on the way back.
Usually I'm very satisfied with cr trails but I cannot say that this year.

With guidance and execution from Lorena @ Costa Rican Trails, my friend (who came from Israel) and I (from Canada) planned an excellent 18 day trip combining Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The shuttles that provided the transportation were impressively prompt and efficient. The hotels, with 1 1/2 exceptions were great. Most of the hotels were attractively situated amidst beautiful grounds, had coffee making facilities in the room (important to us), swimming (vital to me), pleasant decor, and good dining facilities. Mimos Hotel in San Antonio was missing some of those components and Cala Lodge in Monteverde was missing all of those to the extent that we couldn't figure out why she would have chosen that dump at all. We immediately, on our own, found much nicer accommodation (Poco a Poco) nearby and were assured that we will be reimbursed the cost of the Cala. Tours and activities were all great with one exception (plan to have us hike 7+ hours up a Nicaraguan volcano in 35+ deg. Our guide though , last minute, provided us with excellent alternative activities for the day.
