Had to spend one night in San Jose before traveling to Jaco. Had an excellent experience staying at the Wyndham Escazu (already reviewed), and wanted to find a nice place for dinner. The staff at the hotel told us about an open air mall just up the road which is primarily all restaurants. It is just across hwy 27 from the Multiplaza. There is a lot to choose from and tried to get a feel for some of the places from tripadvisor, but bad internet and no 3 or 4G made that difficult. We walked around, looked at menus and the environments of several places and finally settled on Lorenzo's Italian Steak House. They have inside and some outside dining and they are opening a new bar/lounge next door. The ambience is very nice on par with any 4 star restaurant in the US. The staff were all attentive and helpful. The menu had a lot of variety including what you would expect with pasta, chicken, beef and seafood. I had the veal, which was the best I've had in awhile and my fiancé had salmon. Both were excellent. The food, desert, drinks and expresso were all up to par. They also had a guy on a stage behind the bar playing alto sax. He was very good and a great compliment to the ambience without overwhelming the room by being too loud.
Overall a great experience.
