We've been coming to CR for years, had heard about the Biesanz family, Barry's wood shop, and had even read his Mother's book "The Ticos", but had never visited his business.
WOW! What took us so long? Why hadn't we been before now?
My advice---DO NOT MISS GOING HERE!
These folks are some of the most charming and knowledgeable people to be encountered in Costa Rica. The garden and wood shop tour are most interesting. Barry's craftsmanship is worthy of gold medals. We went intending to look around, browse a bit and maybe pick up a small something. What we found were offerings from a few $$'s to a few thousand $$'s. All treasures, no matter the price point. We left having spent a few hundred $$'s more than we expected to, and wanted to buy more!!
From now on, Biesanz Woodworks will be a regular stop for us, and once you go, it will be for you as well.
