“A relaxing visit”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

I spent two weeks at Coyaba Tropical while attending a Spanish language institute. Mike and Paul offered a warm and relaxing atmosphere in a cozy B&B atmosphere. The room was excellent and Paul's breakfasts wonderful especially the fruit. We were visited by the local wildlife, especially the monkeys who welcomed us on several days earlier in the day. My schedule required an earlier breakfast time. Mike and Paul were very willing to accommodate me. Whether you are visiting overnight or an extended stay, this is a great choice. It is convenient to both Quepos and Manual Antonio beach and park. Enjoy a visit with these great hosts.

Room Tip: Mike and Paul are very honest about their complex being beside the road from Quepos to Manual Antoni...

The pictures on the website don't do it justice: Coyaba Tropical is a little slice of paradise in the already heavenly Manuel Antonio. It is conveniently located between the town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio beach and National Park. The accommodations are lovely--Mike and Paul have done a wonderful job in restoring this historic property. The pool area is its own little tropical oasis, and our room was spacious, stylish, and comfortable. The daily breakfasts were also quite good. Although it's difficult in general to get around this mountainous stretch on foot, there is a cheap and convenient public bus that runs frequently and stops right outside the hotel, and cabs are plentiful. Coyaba also has parking if you rent a car.
As many have noted, Mike and Paul are outstanding hosts. They happily provided recommendations for restaurants, beaches, and day trips, all of which were spot-on. They also went above and beyond by helping my travel companion find a room for the night near the airport when he hit a travel snag. They really go out of their way to ensure that your experience is memorable and fun. They have poured their heart and soul into Coyaba Tropical, and it shows. Highly recommended.

Mike and Paul go out of there way to make your experience VERY comfortable.
Every morning by the pool, Mike will serve you Paul's delicious homemade breakfast dishes, as well as fresh local fruit, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, and toast.

Located in the middle of all the restaurants and hotels in the Quepos hills, you have many options at your fingertips. Walk down the road to the local soda "El Arado" and eat like kings for very reasonable prices. Alternatively, for a more romantic ocean view sunset experience, go directly next door to "La Luna" for incredible tapas and 2-for-1 cocktails.

MIke and Paul have a wonderful B&B perfectly located just a few minutes from Manuel Antonio Park. Recently rated Costa Rica's best beach.

Thanks again for choosing to stay with us and also taking time to provide your comments. We greatly value feedback from our guests confirming things we are doing well, and also help us identify any areas where we can improve. It was a genuine pleasure having both of you stay with us and also a pleasant surprise to learn that you both work for the same company I did before deciding to leave and open our Bed and Breakfast.

Wishing you both many fond memories of your Costa Rica vacation will keep you warm to the end of Canadian Winter and into Spring.

Mike and Paul were wonderful hosts! They are very laid back, accomidating, and had good advice to make traveling easier. Breakfast was better than we could've ever expected, filled with large portions of traditional dishes & homemade bread. The location is safe & secluded. Mike & Paul have created an wonderful Costa Rican oasis right in their back yard with a pool surrounded by local vegitation, outdoor kitchen & sitting space. I would recommend that anyone visting Manuel Antonio stay in this cozy & quaint B & B.

Thanks Mike & Paul!!!! We'll be back

Last year my friends Wayne and I visited Coyaba Tropical in Quepos, Costa Rica for one week. This year we returned for a two week stay from February 18 - March 4, 2013. This this year it was even better.. We had time to enjoy the wonderful job Mike and Paul have done to improve the grounds. The swimming pool which has been added since our last visit was great and the landscaping is really great.

Our friends Shane, David and Guy from Toronto joined us during our stay so we had a wonderful time all round. Everyone of us loved the facility and plan to go back as soon as possible.

As usual, Mike and Paul were wonderful hosts and even went with us on a few local trips including one to a new beach that was virtually deserted and one of the most beautify I have ever been on.

Quepos is a change for those, like me, who the who were used to the crowded beaches and sameness of the all inclusive packages. Quepos is safe and the whole area is still relatively undeveloped but it has excellant infrastructure -economical local transport - great food places and few if any aggressive peddlers. The scenary is out of this world. .

If you want a place to go relax and have a hassle free relaxing vacation then go to Coyaba Tropical. It is a wonderful place.

Room Tip: This is a small place and all of the rooms are equally good

Just returned from a visit to Manuel Antonio. Mike and Paul were excellent hosts. The facility is a tropical paradise. Paul cooks a delicious, hearty breakfast. It was relaxing to linger at the pool after a day at the beach. There is a bar at a luxury hotel adjacent to Coyaba which has happy hour with breathtaking views of the sunset over the ocean. Rooms are nicely appointed with tasteful decor. Paul and Mike arranged excellent day tours for us. In fact, Paul and Mike went out of their way to make our stay a memorable experience.
