We have spent almost a week in the house of Marta and Douglas and we are under a huge impression of her property but mostly, by the great atmosphere that Marta creates - she is like a mum, trying to do her best to make sure that everyone feels special and comfortable. And she loves doing that - you can see that from the way how she talks with passion about her place, how she achieved it and how is live in Quepos. Great place with the spirit!

Casa Pargo was the perfect rental. Our Quepos adventure was a spur-of-the-moment anniversary trip and our little home with Marta and Douglas was nothing but wonderful. The view of the Marina was absolutely beautiful, especially at sunset. Waking up every morning to Monkeys on our balcony is so much better than any alarm clock (yes, they can be loud and alarming, however, still amazing.) Marta and Douglas are around if they are needed for anything, as are the friendly staff. Yet, they are so respectful of your space that you wouldn’t know they were there unless needed. Setting up tours and excursions was made so easy because you tell Marta which ones you want to do, and she books it for you. They also booked our shuttle from the airport to Casa Pargo which saved a lot of hassle and stress once off the airplane and every cab driver is trying to get you to choose them. The house is on a pretty steep hill, so if you’re a walker like us, just know you’re going to get a workout in, but it’s totally worth it and part of the fun. This just means that the house is super quiet because it’s away from the main road. You can, however, rent a car if you choose. All in all, this was a wonderful place to stay while visiting Quepos. We highly recommend it :):)

This AirBnB is located in Quepos, CR. The location is high above the fairly new marina, on a very rutted and steep dirt road. Once you find the location and manage the drive to the top (and hopefully survive it) you will find the host, Marta, who is super friendly and a pleasure to speak to. She has a few different unit's you can rent, I believe the prices are all the same. The spaces are all separate from each other and only share a common pool / lounge area. For the Quepos area, this is a unique find with a great view of the marina below. Accommodations are about average - there is room for improvement, but then again you aren't paying top dollar for it. The best part is the feeling of being welcomed by Marta - she is there to help with anything you need.

We were a party of five. We arrived Christmas evening and stayed 5 days. We had two separate units. One was El Ranchero which is above the bar area all by itself. It is a studio type apartment with a tiny kitchen, bed, seating area, and bath with a large shower. Doug and Marta treated us very well and made us feel comfortable. We only had a couple of minor issues. One problem was our compact rental car. It could not make it up the steep drive all the way to Casa Pargo. We parked part way up and walked the last 50' or so. No big problem at all. My only other issue was with the sheets and towels. Both had a strong soap smell. I am pretty sensitive to chemical odors and it was a bit of an issue.
The most outstanding feature is the view from the patio next to the bar and pool. Everyone gathers there first thing in the morning to drink coffee and take in the view of the Pezvela Marina and the ocean. We would all gather in the evenings again to sip a beer and watch the sunset. We enjoyed the almost daily visits by a group of monkey and became really interested in watching for all the exotic birds. Marta puts out peeled bananas to attract them. All in all I really liked the setup there.

Five individual units including kitchenettes are well appointed and overlook Pacific over the marina. CLEAN and well managed. Marta seems to know all the right connections for all of your needs, including fishing guides, taxi service, markets, park information, ziplining, tours and transportation at a local price. The place is on the side of the mountain with great views, breezes and a pool. Your greeted by Marta and given the tour and shown to an honesty bar with all kinds of snacks and beverages. Monkeys and iguanas greet you at 6:00am daily. We fished outside the marina with a great guide and saved money but had great luck with Tuna and Sailfish. We fed all the guests and Marta and Douglas cooked our catch and some to give to neighbors. The hill is steep but walking down is a breeze, walking up you can pick up fresh mangoes and avocados for lunch. We rented a car but others used a taxi or local uber service if your brave. Have fun and totally will go back again.

Room tip: All rooms offer a view and have kitchens.
