Sweaty and stressed waiters. Long wait for our breakfast. No timing control. The manager said silly excuses "sorry because we are full " and they werent. Horrible coffee. Whe we received the bill, it was a real mess, no pen to sing a Boucher. The first and the last.

This place was pretty bad. Havent heard the end of this choice from wife and daughter. Cafeteria setting that looked like it was for big tour buses to stop at. Got the ceviche as an appetizer. Probably will avoid this dish rest of our lives due to bad memories it spawns. Wife and I got the "special burger". Names is deceiving, there was nothing special except the vomiting my wife did later. Daughter got the white sauce noodles. Apparently was also very bad.

Go into town if you have the time or get something from a gas station. This quick stop off highway 1 was definitely a mistake. Oh yeah, prices were also bad for such crappy and low quality swill

Good food, a bit pricey for location. Not much of view. Service was adequate but will not go out of their way to please customer. Restaurant was relatively empty and tv had a soccer match but when we asked to change channels to view the Olympics they did not bother.

This is one of those iconic places that everyone has gone to for years. Most ticos stop here on the way to or from Guanacaste. It's open 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. so you'll almost surely find it open. It's simple local food with fresh seafood at very convenient prices. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, but it's clean and the service is efficient. The portions are also very generous. I ordered the rice & shrimp and it was delicious, just like it's traditionally made in Costa Rica.

I had been told about this restaurant by an american I met in Playa Hermosa and stumbled onto it on my way from Puntarenas.Located at the top of a hill on the well-traveled main road Caballo Blanco is a welcoming place. Frequented by Ticos and crowded we were treated to a wonderful grilled whole fish beautifully prepared. Probably snapper im not certain. My wife had a wonderful hearts of palm salad and kept begging for tastes of my fish which I graciously served up, the portion being truly large enough to share! It's a big place w/ a great atmosphere and attentive service. Look for the big white horse (Caballo Blanco!) fronting this great place!
