I stayed at Cabinas Jimenez a night before and after a 3-day trip to Corcovado. They upgraded me to a better room than what I'd booked, and and Annie was so sweet and helpful with activities and transportation. I showed up with a full day to kill and not much of an idea of what to do, and she suggested a great bike ride to a nearby beach and some self-guided kayaking. The hotel has bikes and kayaks that you can rent free of charge which made for a fun and active day. The location is a 3 minute walk to the "main strip" including the meeting point for most Corcovado hikes, which was super convenient. They also offer free luggage storage and helped me to arrange transport to La Palma to catch my bus the next day. I'd definitely recommend this property to anyone staying in Jimenez!

We loved Cabinas Jimenez, our room was large, balcony with a view of the blue Golfo Dulce. Scarlet Macaws every day as well as many other beautiful birds. The pool was great for being outside and staying cool when the day was hot and a great place to visit with other travelers. We enjoyed the bikes provided for riding around the town of Jimenez and the kayaks for the mangroves and getting on top of the pristine waters of the Gulf. Jimenez is an easy and gentle town with banks and grocery stores, the people were friendly we felt safe and relaxed always.

The staff here is the finishing touch! Owner John, Pablo and all the others are the best!! Welcomed us with warmth and remained kind and available consistently throughout our stay. Pablo would go out of his way to greet us if he saw us in town. I really hope we get to stay with them again. Thank you!!

We traveled with another couple and had booked two of the standard rooms which were find for a quick visit. Our first morning the owner, John apologized for not being here when we checked in because he always upgrades when possible from the rooms we had. The upgrades we spectacular. The staff were so wonderful. My husband and I travel ALOT and this is by fair the best and friendly all round staff we have ever met.

John, you’ve a great job selecting your people and we loved the Cabinas. We didn’t want to leave. Puerto Jiménez is probably what Jaco was 20 years ago, let’s hope it stays that way.

Thank you sooooo much.

We loved our time at Cabinas Jimenez. We were there during an especially hot spell so the cool, air conditioned rooms and the refreshing pool were greatly appreciated. Our room was situated right on the Gulfo Dulce and our deck / outdoor kitchen had a nice view of the gulf and the town pier. The outside of the hotel and the room interiors were decorated with beautiful murals and wood carvings. Having free bikes and kayaks for our use was a real plus and made wildlife and bird watching even easier—although not really necessary to see the scarlet macaws which seem to hang out all around the hotel! Pablo and Rico at the front desk were always friendly and helpful. We went on a tour of the gulf with John, the owner, who clearly loves the area and knows just where to go to see dolphins. If you visit Puerta Jimenez, the Cabinas are a great choice.

Room tip: Room 10 was wonderful - outdoor kitchen, near the pool, looking out on the bay.

Nice clean cabinas unfortunately without breakfast. Our cabina was direkly to the sea. In the trees near by Toucan and red macaw were sitting.

We staied three nights the first one was horror.

Verry important for this place, never stay there on Saturday night.

On the other side of the little bay only 200 meter away is a bar/discoteck and they play music as loud as possible until four a'clock in the morning.

Everything else was very nice here.
