“I never want to leave.”

We couldn't be happier. We wake up every morning to an amazing sunrise over the Golfo Dulce, enjoy a wonderful breakfast with a view of the ocean, as well as, a view of the pool & jacuzzi, we take a morning walk along the beach or just down the to see red macaws, toucans, 3 types of monkeys. The staff was great, they organized fishing trips, excursions to Corcovado a National Park, horse back riding, kayaking and even a massage. The perfect place to feel like you are really part of the jungle, but, still enjoying all the amenities of a full service beach resort. Beautiful ground, clean, comfortable guest suites with huge bathrooms (jacuzzi tub + stand alone shower), mini fridge, parlor /living room & excellent veranda style porches with rocking chairs to sit back and listen to the waves roll in. Food was excellent, don't miss the coconut pancakes. We loved it & we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Bungalows 1, 2, & 3 are oceanfront.

I returned to Agua Dulce Lodge for 4 weeks in June and July. I went with 2 girlfriends and we all had the time of our lives. The staff treated us like royalty! They went out of their way to make sure our vacation was one to remember. They are all so friendly and kind. Carlos , the manager (he is the BEST), again set us up on two fantastic outings. One into the rainforest and to the waterfall, and the other deep sea fishing and dolphin watching. None of us had fished before and we caught two rooster fish. One was 55 lbs. and one was 57 lbs. We were thrilled, to say the least! On the rainforest tour we saw so many different animals and birds, etc. Incredible! If you go, ask Carlos to set you up with Tabago for the fishing trip and Randall for the rainforest tour. The food is excellent and we ate most of our meals at Agua Dulce. The pool is kept spotless and the grounds and flowers are breathtaking. As before, the rooms were also spotless. The secluded beach takes your breath away. If you are looking for a place to totally relax, this is the spot! Or if you prefer to be active, there are numerous outings available. I will be going back in the winter for my 3rd time. It is to beautiful to not want to go back again and again.

Room Tip: All rooms have air conditioning. Try Units 4 and 5 by the pool.

Loved every minute of our stay at Agua Dulce, and all the tours that management scheduled for us. The arrangements were effortless on our part, and the staff was incredible. Within 2 hours of arrival our family of 5 had a delicious lunch at the hotel, and was kayaking in the Mangroves with an excellent local guide. When we returned Harry made us dinner the first night even though the kitchen was closed, Carlos went out of his way to be kind and welcoming, and the breakfast was both delicious and served with warmth and kindness, with a background symphony of Scarlet Macaws. The hotel is perfectly situated on a spectacular beach, with gorgeous views, abundant wildlife and the constant thunder of crashing waves.

We arrived without a reservation, but were courteously greeted by the front desk lady, she proceeded to call the manager in charge whom after quoting some prices , gave us a sweet deal with breakfast included and we jumped in.
The regular prices vary from 90 to up to $300 per night, but it was the in between season and there were a few vacant rooms.
The property is nicely kept, the pool is modern and well kept.
There is a restaurant overlooking the pool and the beach. Food quality is good and tasty but pricey, the drinks were good and not watered down.
This is a good place to stay if you want to explore Corcovado National Park .

Awesome large pool right by beautiful secluded beach! Tons of scarlet macaws! Restaurant ambiance very nice, food only so-so. They do a good basic breakfast, but for lunch and dinner we recommend the quick walk on the beach to Iguana Lodge for gourmet meals.
Fun boogie boarding and shore break waves right in front of hotel. Usually not a sole around.
Staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Rooms clean, comfortable, charming.
We will be back for sure!

When we booked our suite we very soon got upgraded to a larger suite which included a jacuzzi for no extra charge, thats a very good start!

Coming from a 4 day hike in Corcovado we only wanted to relax and sleep well. We got a suite by the pool and unfortunately for us our first nigh coincided with a big Costa rican holiday and there was a party around the pool that just kept on going. Not something we enjoyed in our present state... so in the middle of the night (2 am) we sent a message to the manager after having failed to find any staff around to complain to...
The next morning we were moved to a suite further back, away from the pool. And the rest of our stay the manager was very apologetic for the first nights problems and he really went out of his way to try make this up. I dont think late night parties were a common problem, but unfortunately for us we got affected by this exception. We really appreciated how seriously this was taken though.

After the first night we really enjoyed the rest of our stay at Agua Dulce, the suites are high standard ones. There is a nice pool area, but even better there is a vast expanse of beautiful beach just 100m away from the resort! Without a car there are very few restaurants to chose from, fortunately the resort restaurant is really good. We enjoyed all of our meals here. We fondly remember the hamburger with the huge slice of (mozarella?) cheese on it, decandent - but very very good :)

Room Tip: The pool area can be noisy at times, from children playing during the daytime and music in the eveni...

An outstanding place to enjoy an unspoiled, pristine beach. We stayed there for several days in July, which is rainy season on the peninsula and a relatively low season for tourism. You can hear the surf from your room - the beach was about 40 meters from our front door. The restaurant is pretty good. I thought breakfast, which was free, was the best meal there. The beauty of the place and the relaxing atmosphere also means that you are somewhat isolated - a couple of miles from town. We used the resort's bicycles a couple of times and eventually rented a vehicle from a place in Puerto Jimenez next to the airstrip. The staff is helpful there (Harry took very good care of us and when I mentioned to one of the owners that I wanted to get to an ATM, he loaned some money on the spot) but they were geared to take care of you at the resort, not set you up for tours. The resort staff can call a cab for you, but there's no resort-provided transpo to and from town. Everything about the pricing at the resort seemed very fair to me - nothing predatory or exploitative about it. I have seen other reviewers comment that the resort seems a little spartan or basic, but considering the environment, I think the resort does fabulously well. One needs to consider that the place is on the far-flung edge of a Central American country where the jungle grows right down to high water line of the beach. All the goods you consume at the resort are delivered over miles of unpaved roads by trucks burning gas that costs about $6.50/gallon. For Agua Dulce to have a beautiful resort where the A/C in the rooms works really well, where there is always hot water in the bathrooms, where the rooms are spotlessly clean, where they have a large, clean, well-maintained pool, and even the wireless access works pretty well is an astounding achievement. So, do plan to stay at Agua Dulce if you go to Osa Peninsula. Just make sure you rent a vehicle and do your homework on tours before you travel.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the pool worked well for us.
