Have visited the Osa a few times & always stayed here. This lodge has a private feel that is immediately inviting. Very clean and close to both fishing & eco attractions. Oscar, the owner is a charismatic guy who greets you with the warmth of an old friend. He makes sure your visit is an enjoyable one with a personal touch. Amazing fishing captain with a great sense of humor & extremely knowledgeable about local life & wildlife.

Have never caught as many different kinds of monster fish in my life. Incredible fishing on a coastline that is breathtaking.

Las Islas Lodge is aesthetically pleasing with a location near the water and the airport. The rooms are clean, modern and well equipped. But what really impressed me was the service the Lodge provided in arranging all the details of our fishing trip, including adjusting to unforeseen last minute travel changes. These problems were handled calmly and efficiently without extra cost. The all-inclusive package included home cooked meals which used local ingredients including freshly caught fish cooked as well as any I have had. The kitchen was able to meet the special dietary needs of a traveler with a severe dairy allergy. I have fished many locations across the USA and Canada, and have never experienced the abundance and variety of fish I came across during this fishing trip, led by the Maestro's Captain, Oscar. He has a personal touch and is thorough in his trip planning. He seems to know everyone. His fish stories are great. The entire experience was highly enjoyable.

Upon arrival, greeted with a complimentary tropical drink. Had our own spacious cabana, comfortable king size bed, mini refrigerator, and large shower with hot water. Breakfast served everyday. Lunch is usually not served unless special arrangements are made. The chef and manager of the restaurant, Kyle Badge, prepared some awesome dinners, especially the fish which we caught & brought back with us to the lodge. The staff at the lodge was so helpful and friendly. Most could understand and speak some English. Can arrange for several types of tours. Taxis are readily available for a trip downtown to Puerto Jimenez and other sightseeing. Fishing was great! Boats & tackle adequate and the captains were knowledgeable and qualified.

Las Islas Lodge provided us with a wonderful experience! We were warmly greeted, given a choice of rooms immediately and received any amenity we could desire (ice, cups) when we requested them. Oscar and Maria Fernanda take great pride in doing things right; this showed everywhere! The grounds are well cared for but very natural, filled with exotic birds and wildlife.

The room was large and comfortable with air conditioning and a nice king bed in a free-standing unit with convenient parking just beside it. Pillows, towels and linens were of good quality. The bathroom was very ample and luxurious. The pool area was comfortable with good chairs and a small but well-kept pool.

At the time of our stay, the restaurant was being rented out and was not in the direct care of the Lodge's owners. Breakfast service was not timely on our first morning. We missed breakfast on our second day, due to an early excursion, however, on our third morning, food and coffee were ready right on time. The food quality was very good.

Oscar provides fishing trips and is well-known throughout the local community as a successful businessman and sometime benefactor. He was a pleasure to visit with when we had the chance. His wife, Maria Fernanda, assisted us on planning a portion of our trip that had been fouled by bad information. She personally took time to help us find and book a hotel in another city in Costa Rica. Her dedication to customer service and her true empathy for others make her an exceptional person and businesswoman.

The quality of service we received at Las Islas Lodge was really superb. My husband and I would highly recommend this lovely lodge and its' owners!

This is THE place to go if you want to have your space to relax--either with a book by the pool, or in the large beds in the air-conditioned rooms. The property is immaculately maintained and the staff is friendly.

It is also the place to find the best fishing guide in Costa Rica. Oscar Villalobos your man for an exciting day of offshore or inshore fishing. He knows the waters well and can translate his experience into your success.

Stay at Las Islas Lodge, just a short walk out of town.
