We have stayed at The Lookout for three years in a row and plan to go back year after year!! It is one of our favorite places. We love the remoteness - and one has to embrace that fact - Carate is remote, but nonetheless...at The Lookout Inn - the food and drinks are always plentiful, the accomodations always clean and in great condition. The staff has always been happy and smiling. Terry and Katya are wonderful hosts. Going to sleep to the sound of the ocean and waking to the birds is wonderful. The beach and rainforest - both access and location - are incredible and can't be matched in the area. Terry & Katya can arrange or help arrange most of what you would ike to do during your visit to Carate. If you want to see amazing wildlife...this is the place to go! We've seen monkeys, macaws, birds of all shapes & sizes, turtles, snakes, blue morpho butterflies, tapirs & even a puma - all within a few hours in the rainforest near the Lookout. We've seen photography groups from the US come year after year to this incredible site. This is a remote area of the world...and Costa Rica in general is not an easy country to get from one place to another especially during the rainy season. I have read the negative reviews of others and their comments have never been my experience. I have never encountered an unhappy guest in the three years I've visited during week-long or longer visits that I have had at the Lookout.More
