Is Exciting when we read about our guests experience and how you were able to enjoy our home.
Thank you for your comment and your visit.
We had the bamboo cabin which was nice accomodation but be aware there are no fans in these open air cabins and often can get hot and muggy at mid day and night at this latitude. Outdoor showers are cold water only but refreshing. No plug-ins in cabins (this is a true ecolodge!). Great food and service. Patrick and Jose and company were great hosts. Make sure and take the short hike to Sunset Point on the property for expansive views of Corcavado coast. We will be back some day.......
Yes, we are a true ecolodge! And you are always welcome !!
We are happy to know that you enjoyed your stay here in the jungle.
Pura vida !
Positives: Very close to the national park, the cabins were nice and the other guests were wonderful. Jose leads a wonderful yoga class and I got an excellent massage. We liked the communal eating.
Negatives: Communication wasn't great as we were trying to confirm booking, there was no orientation and no communication about the $900 for 3 people hiking and overnight stay in the national park. It turns out that the ocean access has a serious rip tide which we were not made aware. One of our party literally had to be rescued by another guest. The staff showed no concern and did not even check on her to make sure that she was all right, or to see if she needed anything. A person there, who claimed he was part employee, part volunteer and part guest, did nothing. It was confusing as to what is role was. The tiki tents are not glamping...they are a tent on a platform tucked into the jungle with no airflow. This is not glamping. Even the cabins, which were nice, did not have a fan. All in all the negatives so outweighed the positives that we forfeited both our Osa National Park trip, which is why we went, losing our $900, and the last three nights that we had paid for. We did not know, based on the lack of service, if we would safe having this company, and the company they contracted with, guide us into the park. This place has great potential but needs a lot of work...most of which, would not cost money but would be taken care of with better customer service.
Hello Patricia, thank you for your comment which will help us to improve our ecolodge and the service.
I want to take a minute to give you a proper and more detail answer:
*We are already taking care and will set up a sign in the beach this same week, in this way, we will make sure that guests (even if we advice about currents) will have another way to remember.
The unspoiled beach is claimed for all our guest as one of the best atractions here, and we always ask to be careful and check the water before swiming, we really sorry that your dear friend had that experience, ocean and nature can be umpredictable here and any part in the word, but nobody blame us for that before.
*About our tents and cabins,I just double check and every cabin description mentioned about no fans, also have videos and pictures that show every accommodation. In our website under the section "Is finca exotica for you" you will find all that info (no fans, no hot water, etc) In that same page we recommend tents for adventure people under 50 years, even when some people above that age had enjoyed the stay before.
*I took time and read the 24 emails conversation you had with our staff and they mentioned and sent you links of cabins, etc. That means: when you decied to book you had information enough to actually know that we do not offer fans, etc
*In the communications about the tour you mentioned and booked with Osa Experience they give you the total amount to be paid, terms and conditions before you decided to book. I believe that you deiced to cancel the night before the trip, and as far as I understand the guide (that was already paid) came and was here available for you to spend the day and hike with even even if was not inside the park (because that was your decision).
Please do not missunderstand, we really want to say thank you for your comments, we want to learn from this experience in order to improve the experience for next guests. We are glad to know that after your visit you found another place more aligned with your needs, expectations and your home comforts, those ones that our off the grid experience dont pretend to offer.
If there is anything you are unclear about, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via email.
We are in our early 60s. We loved our experience at Finca. You are very close to nature and in an unspoiled place while also being served healthy delicious meals and meeting other travelers. We hiked, relaxed on the beach and swam when we could (high tide is too dangerous but we still played in the shallows to cool off). The chef is talented and took pains to make sure we got the food that worked for our dietary restrictions. Don't come if you mind no ceiling fans or AC. Do come if you want to experience being in a rain forest and waking to Toucans and Spider Monkeys in nearby trees. Thank you to all the staff for creating such a wonderful experience.
Thank you for your words ! We are so happy to know that you had a complete experience here in the jungle ! You are always welcome.
We are a family of four and had just come back from a 50km/3-day-jungle-hike in Corcovado. This place was exactly what we needed to just rest and eat and just be. It is so close to Corcovado that there are loads of animals around. So by spending the day on the restaurant deck, you will be able to see birds and the likes. The food was amazing, but not kids friendly, on the other hand, just ask them, and they will prepare for the kids. The staff is helpful and always has a smile on their faces. Apart from Corcovado, I'm pretty sure there are som hikes to do there as well, which we didn't do because we were exhausted after ours. We even got upgraded to a family cottage! A beautiful place, definitely worth every penny and time (takes some time from Puerto Jimenez). Might be difficult to access when winter time there because of high tide.
Thanks for your comment! We feel so happy when our guests call luxury to be souronded by nature in a real ecolodge.
Of course we alway will try to suit all the food requirements (specially for the little ones).
You are always welcome, next time you can explore the hikes around our property (unless that you decide to go in a 3 day hike again haha) ;)
Thank you for your visit !!
This rustic lodge is so perfect. Expect an immersive experience with direct connection to the surrounding natural environment, but somehow with a world-class food experience. The chef is so amazing, the staff so helpful, and the environment breathtaking.
Read this review is breathtaking!!! Thank you for your words and your visit.
We are so happy to know that you enjoyed your stayed and our healthy food!
You are always welcome !
