We had a great week in Montezuma staying at Luna Llena. Very convenient location just up the hill from the town, and fantastic communal spaces that really encourage socialising with other guests - we met some lovely people and enjoyed chatting to people from lots of different countries. Excellent clean communal kitchen too. We travelled with our 2 year old son so it can be a bit hit and miss staying in hostels but it was very kid-friendly, all the staff were lovely and they even have a massive box of Lego that used to belong to the owner's kids - ideal! We also saw more wildlife around the hostel than we did on a trip to the nearby reserve! Monkeys everywhere, coatis, loads of birds and even an armadillo one night. It can be a bit noisy from traffic noise and monkeys throwing mangoes at the roof! But we didn't mind and slept through most nights. It is VERY hot in Montezuma though so check your room fan works before you pay, some are apparently worse than others... Overall we highly recommend it.
