My wife has a cast on her foot so we got a taxi to go have dinner. Turned out that the place we wanted to go was closed on Sunday!
The taxi driver Marcos asked us if we liked seafood and we said yes.
He then told us that the best ceviche and sopa de marisco in the Montezuma area was at Marisqueria Nora. (We later found out iMarisqueria Nora is open Tuesday - Sunday, 5 pm -10 pm right now for dinner only, with plans to expand to lunch as well.
We asked the taxi driver to take us to Mariqueria Nora. The road winds quite steeply up from Montezuma onto the headlands toward Cobano. We had only gone a short distance when we arrived. The taxi driver said that Nora had had restaurants in Montezuma for 20 years but now only had this one at her home.
The restaurant was spotlessly clean with nice furniture, art, and a view of the forest. We could hear the parrots squawking nearby.
Great brisas after being in steamy Montezuma for a week! Thankfully the menu was in both Spanish and English, and the beautiful waitress Alejandra was bilingual as well !.
We ordered the Ceviche de Pescado and the Sopa de Marisco. Both were fresh and tasted soooooo fabulous. The ceviche came with the Costa Rican specialty flatbread type Patacones.
We also ordered white wine since they did not have red but they also had Imperial and Pilsen for beer drinkers.
My wife ordered Fish with Garlic Sauce. I ordered Fish with Curry and Coconut sauce. Both had al dente veggies, a very tasty green salad, mashed potatoes and the fish.
Both tasted wonderful and were very nicely presented.
What a wonderful discovery only 1 km from Montezuma central! We will go back!
