My husband and I stayed at Buena Vista Villas on the second half of our awesome vacation to Costa Rica. We traveled with our good friends, two other couples, whom we travel with often. Buena Vista Villas was a very nice place. The grounds are impecably groomed and beautiful! My husband and I stayed in a Jr suite with a wonderful view of the ocean, where we watched the sunset every night, which was always breathtaking! Behind our suite, just below our veranda, was an awesome jungled forest that was the home of monkeys of all kinds! They came to visit every morning about 6 am and we made it a point to wake up and have coffee outside to watch their show!

Our room was clean and comfortable, with a king bed. Although it did have a small closet, It did lack storage room which left us to have to live out of suitcases rather than being able to un pack. However, with the beautiful, private beach nearby and several very nice pools on the property, we didnt spend much time in our room!

It was quite a hike to get from the pick up area to our room, but the excercise was welcomed! And there was always wild life and beautiful grounds to view along the way! We were always delighted when we called for a shuttle and Michael was our driver! A very pleasant young man who was very helpful, reccomending very good restraunts in town ( while there make sure to visit Barba Roja restaraunt! They have amazing food... especially the Red Snapper and BBq Ribs!!) Michael worked hard to make sure that we wre always having a great time and made sure that our needs were taken care of. Thank you!

We did have an incedent while staying at Buena Vista Villas where we had an in room dinner planned at our friends bungalow. We were told that we would get a call to meet with the chef and plan our menu, etc. but we never got the call and our dinner in our room never happened. It was very disappointing! But we went to Barba Rojas and had an amazing dinner, as well as a great time with our friends dancing to the live band that was the entertainment!

Our trip to Costa Rica was our first and have not quit talking about it since we returned in March! We cant wait to be able to plan our second tour!

We just returned from a visit to Costa Rica and the Buena Vista Villas. I am not sure how you could ever expect more of a true paradise. The resort is spectacular in beauty, from the beautifully maintained grounds, to the wonderful private beach, to the magnificent villas. The villas are super clean, well appointed, maintained with care, and offer some of the more outstanding views I have ever seen. The staff of the facility have ONLY one goal. That is to make sure what you want and when you want it becomes reality. Now matter what we asked, the answer was a yes along with a big smile. We enjoyed all the staff, but got to know Jose (beach bar tender), Andres (our personal concierge), and of course Emily (online concierge). One of our favorite things was the personal dinner we had prepared in our villa by Jose and Ruby. Wildlife was everywhere, including monkeys, Halloween crabs, lizards, birds, bats, and iguanas. We even had a troupe of Squirrel Monkeys on our deck doing a Circus act for our entertainment.

Thanks for everything

Room Tip: Select Villas offer a wonderful deck and fantastic view

Thank you! Please come again! Good to hear we were able to overshoot the expectations; that is our goal. Jose is the James Brown of our beach bar service. The same can be said about all our concierges with all the walking they do on property. Your animal experience is the norm here we hear it all the time more animal here than the national park. Staying at Buena Vista Luxury Villas we want to provide an abundant environment so you don’t want to leave and for sure want to come back! Pura Vida, The Staff.

I traveled with my 70 year old father and 12 year old nephew and Buena Vista Villas was a great place for all three of us! The accomodations were lovely and clean. The two bedroom villa with kitchen and beautiful porches gave us plenty of room. It was great to have a washer and drier in our villa. The beach restaurant was perfect for breakfast and we all had a wonderful time swimming in the ocean and in the family pool just below our villa. Orlando, our concierge, was super helpful and everyone was very kind and courteous. We'd booked some excursions through our travel agent and Orlando confirmed all of the arrangements and made sure that things ran smoothly. He also gave us some terrific restaurant recommendations. It was a terrific place for a family vacation.

Thanks for the good review! Glad to hear everyone enjoyed. Yes the existence of the washer/ dryer and the kitchen in the Premium Villas is fantastic. The kitchen enables you to try our private chef service, not to be missed and kitchens have blenders too for those blended sunset libations. Guest can arrange to have kitchens stocked beforehand too! Or call the concierge to arrange anything you might need. Thanks for staying and don’t forget to come back, Pura Vida, The Staff

Just returned from Buena Vista Villas and it was a great spot for a family. We stayed on this property at the end of our Costa Rican trip, after staying in two other locations in the country. For our family of four, the 2 Bedroom Villa was over the top beautiful and spacious. Two stories with the bedrooms on the lower level, the view from the the huge veranda was breathtaking. The monkeys right outside our balcony were fun too! Get ready for some interesting and un paralleled Howler Monkey sounds! The showers are walled on 3 sides, but at the same time are completely outside .. so it is open to 'critters' if you will. We did spot a few geckos and a frog out there, but no monkeys or anything crazy. Just took a little getting used to. The toilets are also outside, in a little nook as you enter the shower area. (there is regular indoor half bath on the main level).

Our concierge, and any other concierge around was very helpful throughout the stay... but there are no real services on the property. They will drive you to the beach, as it is a sprawling and hilly property. Beach is nice .. different as it's brown/black sand. Water is warm like a bath.. and waves were fun!

For a family traveling, I absolutely recommend Casa (Villa) 412, it is RIGHT next to the family swimming pool, and has incredible views of the ocean far below at the same time. It truly felt like we had access to our own pool (although it was always busy -not overly busy- with lots of other families as well.) There was lunch service at the pool, which was nice.

Location of hotel is very nicely located in proximity to grocery, and all of the restaurants in the area. And very close to the Nat'l Park as well.

Enjoy Buena Vista!

Room Tip: Villa 412 for families is AWESOME

The property and views are amazing. We saw more wildlife enjoying the natural surroundings everyday than one would find in a tropical zoo. Regular sightings of sloths, monkeys (3 types), toucans and countless other tropical birds.
Beautiful private beach. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Often need the shuttle to get around the property, but they are always available at a moments notice.

Room Tip: There was no pull-out sofa in our one room select suite villa, but they provided a roll-away when we asked for it.

Thanks for your review. Yes, the property has amazing wildlife; we often hear it said that our property’s fauna exceeds the national parks. Our staff is friendly and attentive thank you, but then Ticos in general are a very friendly folk! Thanks for spending your vacation with us, Pura Vida- the Staff
