This review is long overdue. Myself, my (now)husband, and 30 of our friends and family stayed at Villa Mymosa over the course of our wedding in May. This was our 4th time returning to Villa Mymosa and they made everything about our stay absolutely perfect. Prior to our wedding, we held a welcome dinner at Villa Mymosa which Stephen the amazing chef planned and executed to perfection. The following day was a lovely day for the ladies poolside. Ron organized massages, and aesthetics for us, Julie made sure everything went off without a hitch.

Our wedding was held elsewhere, but for us nothing compares to the warmth and graciousness that Ron, Julie and Stephen showed us during our stay. We will return again as they're like family to my husband and I. We are extremely grateful to all the staff for everything they did to make our wedding week so special.

We stayed at Villas Mymosa for 3 nights on our recent trip to Costa Rica. Ron, the owner/manager was awesome. Orginally from Canada, he moved permanently to Costa Rica a few years ago. He was extremely helpful with advice on every aspect of our trip. Everything he recommended was just perfect in every way. Henry, the front desk clerk was also extremely kind and helpful.

The location was outside of busy Quepos and on the windy road to Manual Antonio. It felt much nicer than Quepos and its proximity to restaurants, the national park and the beach was wonderful.

After spending several nights in hotels during our Costa Rica travels, it was a welcome sight to have such a spacious 1700 sq. ft. unit. I am guessing that the 1700 sq. ft. includes the two large front and rear balconies, but there was ample room for my wife and I and our two sons, ages 17 and 23. We had a large main living, dining and kitchen area as well as two bedrooms and a very large bathroom. The units are not new and show a bit of age in places, but we found it to be a very good value, very clean and we would stay here again in a minute. There is one thing a guest should know in advance. The entire unit has walls that are 3/4 height so they do not go all the way to the ceiling. If audible privacy is critical to you, you might want to consider another establishment. Other than that, I would recommend it highly.

When you arrive, there is a pool and courtyard setting with an eating area at the end. This is where breakfast is served and it is very pleasant. What you could never anticipate is that these 10 condo units could be home to such an incredible chef. Stephen is a transplant from Gibralter. We were the only family to have dinner on our last night at Villas Mymosa so it was like having a personal chef. Stephen was very sociable and we had a wonderful visit and not only the best meal in Costa Rica, but one of the best in recent memory. Even if you don't stay at Villas Mymosa, I would make dinner an absolute must.

I agree with the the previous review by cbagordon since it's the most recent. We arrived at Villa Mymosa without a reservation after we left a beachhouse (Casa Mirador...don't recommend that place). Not only did they accomdate us, they gave us the same deal we had received a few weeks before when planning on trip. The got the deluxe suite which is incredibly big, spacious, clean, and beautiful. I was surprised that the villas are considered a part of Quepos because it seems like it's apart of Manuel Antonio. Regardless, it's not in the town of Quepos....it's surrounded by greenery. The only bad thing is that it's not walking distance to the beach, but the it's reasonably priced and not a big deal to drive or take the bus to the beach. It's hard to sleep in without hearing the traffic, but it's so bad. The staff was friendly and the included breakfast was good. The supermarket is nearby if you chose to buy groceries, ect. There are a few critters that manage to get in, but you're in the tropical place and it's going to happen anywhere.

To the guy who posted a review saying, "What are you folks thinking?" I think most people would ask you the same thing. Perhaps, that room was not as nice and needed attention, but the staff is very accomodating and I'm sure given the opportunity they would have fixed the problem or changed the room.

Regarding the town of Quepos, it's not the nicest area, but there are a few good restaurants. El Patio's food was amazing and the American owner Adrian is a very pleasant person.

Another recommendations:

-Go to El Avion (very reasonably priced food, great ambiance and views).
-Barba Rojo...great good and the best sunsets
-Negotiate prices for the laying out chairs on the beach
-Buy water before going to Manuel Antonion park...no food/water sold inside the park

My wife and I were married on the beach in Manuel Antonio and stayed in a Deluxe Suite with our two friends for four nights. The apartment was spacious and clean with two huge balconies, one of which usually had a nice breeze. All the appliances, fans, lights, etc. seemed to work fine and the AC units kept the rooms comfortable during the day (it was in the mid 90s our whole stay) and weren't usually needed at night.

However, the service and food were what impressed us the most. Steven, who is quite a character, and Edgar served us what may have been the best meal of my life. And when we came back from a day of zip lining to a flat tire on our rented 4-Runner and could not get in touch with the rental company, Ron, the owner/manager, took our truck key and said he would take care of it. At 7 the next morning, not only had he and Eduardo put the spare on for us, they had taken the blown tire and had it repaired. When we tried to at least pay the repair charge he refused to take our money. Maybe there were other people employed there when previous reviews were written but to me this was the epitome of "the kindness of strangers".

Villas Mymosa is not for those looking to be pampered or those looking for a wild nightlife (although we did get pretty loud one night with no complaints). It has it's quirks, but if you're looking for a comfortable place to stay and a great meal in your belly, then Villas Mymosa is a great place.

Ron, Eduardo, Henry, Steven and Edgar... If you happen to read this... Thank you for everything from your friends Gordon, Phyllis, Blake and Margaret.

We stayed here 4 nights, checked out and went over to the Caribbean side and stayed one night then returned back to "Villa Mymosa". We missed everything about the Pacific. The staff at Villa Mymosa is absolutley "wonderful". We had clean, clean rooms, a/c, kitchnette, bathroom (with everything we needed). Great scenery, great/spectacular food. Stephen and Edgar should have their own show on "Food Network". The front desk arranged our tour "Mangrove"(awesome). Maria, Saddie are absolutely wonderful in making sure our rooms were equipped and cleaned and Juliana with our breakfast in the morning what a "sweetheart". Must not forget Ron/owner who is right out there everyday and he has a great staff. i would definately stay here again. Thank you Julie, Henry. They make you feel like family, a lot of laughs and I will keep in touch with them. Thank you, for the hospitality and your warm hearts and smiles. This is a place that we did not even worry about locking our doors. People may think we are crazy but we felt that we were right at home. We had even dropped some money out by pool and it was still there. They are awesome!!! We will be back:)
