We arrived at Villas Mymosa after a long day of car travel from La Fortuna. We were hungry and tired and looking forward to a nice dinner by the pool and relaxing. When were arrived we were informed that the restaurant was closed in preparation for a barbeque the following day. It was also closed on Monday so basically we stayed for three days with no restaurant except for a mediocre breakfast .We were definitely not "wowed" with the food, friendliness or warmth of this place as described by other reviewers. We still had a great time.
In preparation for the trip, as with another hotel in Costa Rica, I was emailing back and forth with the hotel and at one point was told to just show up and book our excursions when we arrived. Since it was Christmas week I had been warned to book ahead so I pressed the issue and made our plans. I have to say that each excursion was amazing and ultimately we were very pleased with all the arrangements made by the hotel. The rooms, while a bit outdated and somewhat rustic, are very spacious and clean. The laundry service at $7 per bag was a terrific bonus.More
