My mom and I stayed at Issimo Suites after repeatedly verifying with the Concierge that despite the romantic 'flavor' we'd still be welcome. It was fantastic! The staff is on top of their game - friendly, helpful, professional- and all are gracious hosts. The hotel is lovely and quiet and the rooms are really nice and the food is very good. They will also cook fish that you've caught. We stayed in 107 which was perfect. We had a great balcony, large for the two of us and I sat and wrote on it every morning. It was perfect, shaded and a great watching spot for all of the animals. Room 107 was also ideal for me because the wireless was excellent (again, I was there partly to write). We had a couple of monkeys that thought WE were perfect entertainment, especially when we jumped as they started to remove one of the paintings off of the balcony wall!! Everything that has been already said is true. Forget all the advertising you'll see about amazing sunsets elsewhere. I saw two of the most amazing sunsets I've every seen anywhere in the world at Issimo off the pool balcony and from the balcony in our room. We walked the short walk to the beautiful beach on two separate days. It was over Easter so the beach was more packed than usual but there are tons of little nooks in the rocks. In fact, hardly anyone else was actually on the sandy part of the beach since it was blazing hot. Book the tours available through the hotel. We did the Manuel Antonio walking tour and the zip drive (yep, me and my 70 year old mother). Both were excellent and all of the the tour staff were well informed and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay at Issimo! Only suggestion I have for the hotel is more mangoes at breakfast! Costa Rican mangoes are so sweet they taste like they have been soaked overnight in sugar water but alas, there were none for breakfast. Go to Jiuberths for dinner or lunch at least once. Fantabulous, fresh seafood and hilarious staff that are very accommodating with Spanglish! I would certainly recommend Issimo Suites to my friends and fam. Thanks for a great stay!!

Room Tip: Room 107 has great internet and a balcony that is completely private, looking over the forest.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights as the first part of our honeymoon. In a word the entire experience was incredible! We had a junior suite that was ample for our needs, had a gorgeous view of the water, and was quiet. We were greeted with a complementary bottle of wine which we promptly enjoyed in our jacuzzi tub. The breakfast was adequate each morning and the service was always impeccable. The two waiters really were masters at what they did. The front desk booked a day of surfing for us which was great. As an added bonus, we spent one morning relaxing by the pool and 4 or 5 monkeys came and were dipping themselves into the pool.

There was a beach a short walk down the road that was very nice and a man rents kayaks and snorkelling equipment inexpensively so we took full advantage of that. The hotel was a kilometer walk from Cafe Milagro (go eat there!) and an inexpensive cab ride down to Manuel Antonio Beach.

As others have said, you feel secluded we only saw a handful of people the entire time we were there and the fact that it's only adults makes it very serene. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I stayed at Issimo for 7 days 6 nights. The hotel is in a great location and secluded enough to feel like you're on a mountainous paradise. The hotel has 13 suites which makes for an intimate setting. We saw no more than 4-6 other guests in common areas (pool, restaurant) at any given time.

We were greeted with ice cold drinks at the hotel upon check-in. Our room was great (rm 110). It was very spacious and clean. The cleaning staff always did a great job restocking our room with clean towels, soap, and fresh robes. Best of all, we saw lots of wildlife right outside our outdoor balcony.

The restaurant food was great and we got 30% off every time. Yes, you do have to pay 13% tax plus 10% service fee but essentially, you're still getting a great deal on fresh food. If they take long serving the food it's only because it's fresh and made to order. We thought it was worth the wait, and dined at the restaurant 2-3 times for lunch and dinner during our week stay. We always left tip for our waiter and "egg lady" after breakfast :)

The staff was very friendly. We're a same sex couple, and although we were a bit worried to come to CR to a couples hotel, we were treated with utmost respect, courtesy, and friendliness. The spa is also a nice treat and a good deal ($70 for a couples massage).

Our only complaint was a female staff manager that was on the premises bossing all the staff around us. We politely asked for a quick pool cleaning since there were lots of floating bugs and quite frankly never saw anyone clean the pool during our stay. That's not to say they don't clean it, we just never saw anyone do it, so thought we'd kindly ask before we dipped in. While one of the staff cleaned the pool, the manager quickly came over to him, interrupted him, asked why he was cleaning the pool, where he got the cleaning rod from, and made him do something else. This whole time, we were the only guests by the pool, so we found that to be extremely rude. Her overall demeanor made us feel uncomfortable and we felt sort of bad for all the nice staff who were hastily cleaning as she hurried them around.

Besides the manager, everyone else was great. Our only suggestion is that the hotel spruce up their 12p-6pm happy hour. They have a small cute wooden bar by the pool which is always empty, unused, and unoccupied. We wish it was a bit more inviting. Maybe a bartender at the pool or a little ambiance at the bar would be nice.

All in all, we had a great stay at Issimo and would recommend the location. It has an amazing breathtaking view, free buffet breakfast every morning with fresh fruit and eggs made to order. It cant get any better than that. We booked our vacation way in advance and got a great deal for this 4 star hotel. The two waiters made our stay very pleasant!

Everyone there does a fine job of making sure that all your needs. Monkeys were outside of the bedroom every morning, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The view is beautiful. The place is small, so don't go expecting Sandals or a giant resort - it isn't like that. But we enjoyed it very much and would recommend it.

My husband and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary week at Issimo Suites. The experience from reservations to check-out was superb. Very friendly and professional staff. The food was incredible and we chose to eat several meals at the on-site restaurant for the quality even after visiting several restaurants in Manuel Antonio. The rooms are beautiful and we appreciated having a room with a balcony to experience the sounds, sights and smells of this jungle like paradise. The hotel location is beautiful and price is great especially considering includes a wonderful breakfast. Highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived there to the moment we left the staff there was amazing. The great customer service continued till the time we checked out. The room we stayed in ( Room 106) had a 360 degree view of not only the rain forest but the ocean as well. We took the time out to get a couple massage and I can say that it was worth every penny and would def recommend taking advantage of it being right at your door step. We had dinner there every night that we stayed there and the food was outstanding. The Filet Mignon was cooked perfect and the Sea Bass that they had was cooked to a perfect temp. Our waiter Dixon was such an amazing person. He had such a great personality and his smile that can light up a room truly made our honeymoon one to remember. The pool area wasn't to big but perfect for what we needed .We will def come back to stay here when we return to Costa Rica

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 106 and it was amazing. We also had a chance to walk into the presidential suite a...
