Beautiful beach reminiscent of South East Asia. Water temperature is perfect for swimming year round. Popular for learning to surf as there is decent wave action. Friendly sun lounger operations serving drinks and with possibility to have food delivered from nearby restaurants. I particularly liked Mary's, the girls were great and happy to arrange transport back to hotel when I was done. Some vendors patrol the beach selling refreshing coconut water to souvenirs but they are not at all pushy. Definitely walk all along the beach to the end in both directions as it is scenic and charming.

We visited the park for a full day. As mentioned by many of the other reviews, you have to be careful because there are people everywhere trying to sign you up for a tour or parking space. There is a very convenient bus that goes from Quepos to Manuel Antonio with lots of stops in between. We decided not to take a guide and just walk ourselves. We were still able to see quite a few animals by seeing where other people had stopped. We saw squirrel monkeys, cappucins everywhere, a sloth, an agouti and lots of lizards/iguanas and birds. After hiking for the whole morning, we spent the afternoon on the beach. The beach is beautiful and the water was a perfect temperature. Be careful on the beach as the raccoons and monkeys like to steal food or go through bags. This spot isn't as peaceful as other places in Costa Rica but still beautiful and lots of wildlife.

Enjoyed a day at the beach. Rented chairs & umbrella. My husband took a surfing lesson with Dante's Surf school and they were excellent. A few people selling stuff, but nice when you say no they leave you alone.

We did a guided hike. The guide was Andres and he was a walking encyclopedia. Saw lots of insects, lizards, sloths and howler monkeys. Also did the Citadel hike ourselves. Lots of climbing but nice trail and beautiful views and sights. Beach is amazing. Good bathrooms and showers right there. Watch the monkeys or coons don't steal your stuff, they are everywhere!

We had a terrific guide - Roy. A very knowledgeable guide who showed us this outstanding natural park. Saw monkeys, crocs, birds galore. He knew just where to see sloths, iguanas, and such. Very educational. A wonderful trek.
