“A Pretty Beach... but a little busy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2013

Playa Manuel Antonio is a nice beach with an excellent outside view of Manuel Antonio Park. The beach is well-maintained, but tends to get busy at times. For a more tranquil, pristine beach, a trip into the park is recommended.

“Manuel Antonio beach INSIDE the National Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2013

It seems a lot of people are confusing this beach with the public beach (both beautiful). There are no vendors allowed here and no chair rentals. This is the beach inside the park that's a $10 fee to enter and a short hike to get to. Beautiful and totally worth it but beware, there are monkeys and raccoons everywhere standing by to rummage through your belongings. Do NOT bring food. :)
It was quite the experience. We loved it. The beach is gorgeous.. The water is warm..the wildlife is active. It's everything you want on a trip to Costa Rica.
Tip: there will be tons of guys flagging you down for parking but the "official" parking is by the ticket booth closer to the entrance. Be careful where you leave your car, and don't leave anything in it.

“Nice beach but beware.....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2013

Pretty beach and great waves! Beware of "Butch" on the beach. He's been working the beach renting the beach chairs for years but he'll try to bring drinks and food to you without asking if you want them - and then expects to be paid, of course. Still, it's a great beach and good restaurants across the street.

“Eco-Disaster”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2013

The town of Manuel Antonio densely developed on the hills leading to this national park is an eco-disaster with high rise hotels and illegal infill development destroying the eco-system.. the watershed is seriously compromised by untreated sewage...there is often a long line of exhaust spewing buses and traffic on the single road to the beach and the illicit parking arrangements. Every dollar spent here is fuelling corruption and eco-system destruction. Once you get into the national park its teeming with tourists, hawkers, and human-dependent wildlife. Stay away.

“Relaxing Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

The Manuel Antonio Beach is extremely clean and very relaxing. There are several friendly vendors providing beach chairs and umbrellas. We had a very nice meal and cold drinks at an outdoor restaurant on the beach. We saw a couple of monkeys and a big lizard.
