“What a wonderful relaxing beach!”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

The water was pretty, relaxing and warm - I didn't want to get out of it. Gentle waves as well. White sand beach is lovely. Saw a family of white faced monkeys near the restrooms - cute!

“Beach”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Need to take a shuttle to the beach if you have no car. Also the food at the hotel is expensive. But I still would recommend Mariposa.

“Public beach outside the Manuel Antonio National Park”
Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

First of all, it's important to clarify that Manuel Antonio Beach is the public beach outside the Manuel Antonio National Park. This is where the locals and some tourists, that do not want to pay the $10 fee for the park, go.
The beach is not dirty but certainly not beautiful when compared to the ones inside the park...with a tropical scenery, coconuts trees and exotic animals.

If you want to save money, and avoid paying $10 to get to the national park everyday. I do recommend a beautiful public beach with turquoise water, Biesanz Beach. Ask the locals how to get there. It's very close by, between Manuel Antonio and Quepos. Absolutely beautiful and secluded, you will feel in your own private beach and there are no waves, perfect for kids to swim.
In addition, a family of capuchin monkeys pass by every afternoon.
Again, not crowded and beautiful!
The only cons, there are no food vendors around, you will have to bring your own drinks and snacks.

“Complicated with young kids”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Parking was a disaster for us.... Don't be fooled by the guys with the whistles... If u arrive before 10 am keep driving until u see the park gate and there is a parking lot on the left side of the road. We believed the guys with the whistles and had an extra walk with our 3 year old... About 750 meters extra... A big deal with 2 young kids and all the extra kids stuff....

“Nice park, but was expecting more”
Reviewed January 11, 2013 via mobile

Nice and clean park, but it is a hit and miss on what you will see. We only saw 3 monkeys and some raccoons. Also, make sure you take your stuff to stay at the beach in the park because the nicest beaches are inside the park and you can not get back in once you exit the park.
