“I love El Gato Pescador”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

El Gato Pescador is one of my favorite places to eat in Manuel Antonio. The fist is so fresh and the delicious dishes they serve are out of this world. My favorite is the fish balls with choice of tarter or chipotle sauce for dipping. Also can't go wrong with the platter of battered fish, fish tacos and fish balls that is served with coleslaw and your choice of chips or sweet potato chips or fries. The owners that are usually on site are friendly and helpful. Don't miss this tasty and economical treat.

“Good Fish & Chips... cute cafe!”
Reviewed July 30, 2014

Very cute little fish & chips cafe. The server was very friendly and hospitable, and we were able to meet one of the owners too (she helped us place our order and we chatted a bit about Manuel Antonio). Right on the main road (like literally), and has about 4-6 small tables. No AC, all open air, but has a few fans to cool you off.

We got a platter of fried options... I think we got the fried fish, the fried fish balls, and then the fried calamari...and then a side of onion rings and french fries. More than enough for two people. In our opinion, the fried fish is the best. Hands down really really good. Very fresh and the batter is really interesting...very light but tasty! The calamari was slightly overcooked, a little tough and chewy. The fish balls were a bit mushy on the inside, and my husband said they had too much breading and not enough fish. The onion rings were GREAT. Like best we've had in a long time, normally I don't like onion rings but I really enjoyed these. Coleslaw was also good, had a nice flavor.

Cute place, we had a nice lunch there. Had some Imperials (the BEST beer in Costa Rica) and enjoyed our lunch. A very good value and price for Manuel Antonio, you can have a good lunch and some beers and walk away without a huge hit to your wallet.

“The freshest of the fresh!”
Reviewed July 23, 2014 via mobile

We just returned from a 6 day vacation in Manuel Antonio. We ate at this restaurant 3 times while vacationing and we were never disappointed. The prices are fair and the ingredients are deliciously fresh. The fish tacos were yummy and the pico de gallo on top was the icing on the cake. The Chipotle sauce is to die for! One of my friends requested fish tacos with flour taco instead of the corn that is usually offered and they accomodate his request with a smile. Tacos are served in qunaties of 2, but they will sell you individual tacos if you request them. Their side dishes are fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings (sweet and crunchy), and potato chips which were are hand cut/hand dipped, including the chips. Tracey is so sweet and the owner is hilarious. You will not be disappointed in your food or service...just GO!

“Great food, very friendly service”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

This was one of the most reasonably priced meals of our trip, and the staff went out of their way to help us, even giving us a natural sunburn remedy for our red skin.

The fish balls and tacos were tasty, especially with lime and the chipotle sauce. Great onion rings too!

The restaurant has great décor and is clean and welcoming.

“GREAT FOOD!”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

We liked this place so much that we went back on our last night and tried it again! On our first night, we were greeted by the owner, Jarek (ya - rek). We ordered the sampler for 2 and it was delicious!! We had a good conversation with Jarek and he offered a starfruit from the tree outback and then gave me a private tour of the mango and starfruit tree! We missed the crowd on both nights. Jarek's attitude and easy going personality helps entertain the customers and his employees are locals who know the town quiet well. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in Manuel Antonio. This is a small place so they get busy quiet easy. They also deliver!
