“Great Seafood Meal”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

We come to Quepos for a couple of months in the winter and El Gato Pescador is one of our favorites. The prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent. We don't get Red Snapper like this in Kansas City and the onion rings are probably the best I have had. Sally and her husband are very attentive and friendly and Traci, the waitress, is wonderful. We go a couple times a week and look always come away saying, 'oh, was that good".

“Excellent, tasty, affordable”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

YES, go to El Gato Pescado for Fish-n-chips, it was excellent! Great red snapper fish filet in beer batter, fried just right, accompanied with french fries or onion rings (we tried both and loved them) and a good coleslaw. Attentive service, pleasant small dining area and wonderfully affordable at about $7 per meal. What a treat. We'll be going back!

“Fresh and flavorful”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

Its great to have a cool affordable dinner option at an ocean resort and this fish and chips spot is perfect. The owner was very welcoming and friendly, and the batter fried red snapper and sweet potato chips were excellent, and there are other choices (enchiladas, tacos) if you are not a pescatarian. A great deal for this area. Look for the fish skeleton signs along the main road.

“Small Place, Big Bargin”
Reviewed January 28, 2014 via mobile

We caught our first glimpse of this small, clean and open eatery when we stopped into the shop next door for some frozen yogurt. After an afternoon spent sailing, we took out our dinner from here to enjoy at the house we were renting. What a good decision! The fish filets were fresh and flakey. The batter coating was crisp without a hint of oil. Like other reviewers, we found the onion rings and the sweet potato chips exceptionally good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was busy and clearly popular with a range of folks, both tourists and locals. Surely, this is due to the excellent food, pleasant staff and very reasonable prices. If there were a six-star category, El Gato Pescador would deserve it.

“Fish tacos”
Reviewed January 26, 2014 via mobile

Delicious and affordable fish tacos, right on the main drag. We stopped for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, as well as he lovely service. Will definitely be back. Perfect for a relaxing lunch or dinner on the way back from the beach. And Sally, the owner, could not have been nicer.
