I traveled to Costa Rica with my girlfriend Gaby looking for some rest and relaxation mixed with a little bit of adventure. We were looking for a hotel that looked decent and comfortable with reasonable rates and what we found was something amazing. Our stay at Hotel Mimos was incredible. When we first arrived we were greeted by Rebecca and Giancarlo which turned out to be the owners of the hotel. Also, Rebecca upgraded our room to a junior suite which was beyond awesome. The room had 2 king size beds, a full kitchen and a huge balcony that faced the main road and a clean bathroom. The garden area and pool was always clean. We spent the majority of our trip lounging and baking ourself in this area. The Restaurant and Bar staff were so humble and helpful throughout the trip. We ended up bonding with the staff so much. Long story short the hotel Mimos is pretty much is the reason why we want to go back to Costa Rica!!

Giancarlo and his lovely wife treated us like royalty. They immediately upgraded us from the room we had reserved to a gorgeous apartment with a balcony (without raising our rates) so that my teenage son had the best access to fast internet. The rooms were breathtaking, with a huge balcony overlooking a gorgeous pool. The restaurant is only steps away and the food is quite good. They were also always available and provided excellent suggestions of places to eat and to visit. Very, very nice folks and pretty hotel,

We stayed here one night in a Junior Suite and were very happy with this hotel. I wish we had stayed here the whole time we were in the area. It's a very charming place and the very reasonable price (off season) was fantastic for the Junior Suite with a fully equipped kitchenette and good size private balcony and breakfast included. The grounds were nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again for sure.

A group of four of us stayed at Hotel Mimos in April 2010 and could not have been happier with our experience. We were greeted immediately by Rebecca and Giancarlo. We were given a great tour of the grounds (2 pools, 2 jacuzzis, 3 computers, restuarant, etc.). They had flyers for all sorts of tours and activities that one may want to take part in and were more than happy to make all of the reservations for us for anything we wanted to do. Our room was a two bedroom suite with a beautiful updated bathroom with jacuzzi tub and full shower. We had a large deck that was attached to both rooms. Breakfast was included The staff was friendly, helpful and entertaining. It is a bit of a ways to the beach but since we had a rental car it was no problem. THey also help to arrange transportation to most of the touristy activities that we did (catamaran boat, snorkeling, mangrove tour, etc.). Over all it was a fabulous experience that we are all glad we made the decision to stay at Hotel Mimos. Thank you Rebecca, Giancarlo, Oscar and Rolando- you made our stay wonderful.

We were here for four nights, and stayed in three different areas. Started out on the ground floor at the back, and had two rooms for our group of seven. The rooms were clean, but rather dingy and dark. A little brighter paint on the walls and better lighting would do wonders to cheer the rooms up :) We then moved upstairs to the apartment. Again it was clean. The downside here was that two of us had to sleep in the living room on less than stellar futons. In fact one wouldn't open at all, so we made a bed on the floor out of mattresses from the benches on the deck. For the last night, the remaining three of us were moved up to the area at the top of the property .. I don't remember what that was called, but the room was very nice and tastefully decorated.

Hot water ... well there was never an abundance, but this is something we've come to expect when traveling in Central America. Not a big deal really, in a hot country.

The owners were very nice, and helpful. Rebecca worked very long hours and we appreciated her continuous help with various things. The onsight computers were a real nice touch. They also provided beach towels, which is another nice touch when traveling. The pool was nice too, and a great place to cool off after a hot day at the beach.

The restaurant was okay ... we had the complimentary breakfast there everyday, and also lunch a few times, but we always went elsewhere for dinner.

Location ... well, a little far from anything. A taxi was required to go almost anywhere.

The hotel was fantastic from the start. They have such great, reliable service from the front desk to the people who keep the hotel up and running. The hotel is also wheel-chair accessible, which is rare. It truly caters to the whims and needs of travelers.
Our room was a two bedroom apartment complete with patio and kitchen. We got this apartment for a great rate that no other hotel around the area was able to match!!! The rooms were clean and well-maintained. Not too far from the beach and very close to entertainment.
There are two pools and two jacuzzis (no hot water). Even though there was no hot water, the positions of the pools, right under the sun at times, kept them at a perfect temperature.
There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, although there is no real affiliation between the two, except a free breakfast. Other than the breakfast, the hotel and restaurant is separate from each other. There are many other great restaurants around the area for a better price.
There are three available computers with internet for those who need that technology, along with a phone at the front desk.
The owners are such great, friendly people who really make your stay a fantastic one.
I highly recommend this hotel to other travellers, even those with young children.

Great hotel!
Owned by a great couple this hotel is by far the best in its category.
Good breakfast, clean rooms, and very helpful staff. The owner knows just about everything about the area! Especially if you surf, being a surfer himself, he knows when and where to surf all year round.
Highly recommended!
Pura vida!
