This place was simply amazing. It is not on the beach but I don't think any of the hotels are on the beach their. I thought that would be an issue but it was actually better being up on the hill - the views are the best I have ever experienced at a resort in the world...in all of my travels. Bathrooms were ok - they were older and some in our group found them small...ours was fine but at the end of the day...the rooms were huge...the view was amazing...we really weren't looking to spend time in the bathroom:-)

The internet was not very reliable but other than that - all was simply perfect!

Room Tip: If you need 2 rooms, we had room 28 and 29 (pretty sure that was it). The are connecting rooms and t...

The views are amazing and so is the pool. Other than that, the rooms are damp, bathroom is old. The Wi-fi which was very important to me, was non existent. Even the computer in the lobby would never load pages, or send emails. I complained and they said it's free that's what you get. One night we had Dinner Reservations outside the hotel to a 4 star restaurant. It was pouring rain and I asked if someone could bring up some umbrellas, the answer was no we have none. So my family and I put a towels over our heads, came downstairs for the cab, and there was probably 4 umbrellas behind the desk! They have no laundry room, and nothing dries there because it is so humid, so I had to use their Laundry Service which cost an average of $2.50 an item, even for socks. They could care less if you are satisfied, and that really bothered me. I even spoke to a manager about the issues, and he said that's the way it is.. That's a shame to have that type of attitude. I will not be back because of the service.

We stayed here at the end of our Costa Rica trip- this was our R & R after all our crazy adventures. As soon as we saw the breathtaking views during check-in we knew we wanted to stay another night. I booked this hotel from the reviews I read on TripAdvisor and am so glad I did. Since we booked months in advance, they gave us a free upgrade from an ocean view to a premier ocean view room. We stayed in room #57 (not in the taller building) and it was amazing. We spent a lot of time on the balcony- just gazing out at the water and watching the monkeys play below. The room was updated/modern. It included a small fridge and coffee machine (I'm not sure all the rooms include these amenities). We took advantage of the free shuttle to the beach/Manuel Antonio Park. The buffet breakfasts were wonderful. You can pick where you want to sit and stay as long as you like. They did not rush you. A nice touch was the coffee pot and creamer they leave on your table. Service all around was wonderful. We didn't have a car and could easily walk to a mini market, ATM, other restaurants, etc. I highly recommend checking out Cafe Milagro.

Room Tip: Room #57 seems more private, quiet, and has amazing views. Included a mini fridge and coffee machine...

This is an amazing place. All reviews are try, spectacular view of national park and the ocean. You are taken in at check out which is when we decided to add another night to our stay, even befor going to our room! We were fortunate to get a corner room in the main building on the 3rd floor. Wow amazing view from the wrap around porch. The bathroom in this room was the disappointment for such a wonderful room. We let it go but we had to move rooms for our 3rd night and we went up to top floor corner room same layout but a beautiful remodeled bathroom! Not sure about other rooms on property but ask for room with updated bathroom and it was perfect. So this hotel would definitely be a 5 star if all rooms updated". Can't wait to go back! Amazing infinity pools to enjoy the view of the ocean. Great breakfast included in your stay. Very nice staff!

Room Tip: Ask for updated or remodeled rooms- think best rooms are in main building

La Mariposa has a definite Costa Rican feel. We were on the 4th (top) floor in the corner with an amazing ocean view. The room was very spacious, simply decorated, and comfortable. There is no elevator, but staff bring bags to and from the rooms. There was a very large patio overlooking the ocean. The included breakfast was a typical breakfast, juice, beans, rice, fruit, omelettes, toast, etc. The open dining area has a spectacular view of the ocean, which we enjoyed. The dinner menu was good but a bit pricey. You can take a short walk to less expensive restaurants such as Agua Azul, or a quick cab ride into town for other restaurant options. They provide free shuttles to and from the national park and associated beaches, or you can take a long walk to the nearby beach.

This place has a truly awe inspiring view. A full view of the Manual Antonio peninsula and the ocean as well as the islands off the coast. The view from the balcony in our room was great. We just spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the sights. In the evening we could hear howler monkeys in the jungle below. The daily breakfast looking out onto that was great as well. Really good staff. Very polite with solid service.

We had room 36 corner view was amazing. Every morning we had breakfast (included) at their restaurant. The table we selected was on the edge on patio. What a view in the am. Breakfast was great. Fresh fruit and great coffee. No rush .....staff very attentive and we stayed as long as we liked. Security was very good. Always felt safe.

Room Tip: Room 36 great view. Staff helped with luggage. Thank You
