“Great Place!”
Reviewed March 30, 2009

I think other posts captured it well. Very nice lodging, good food, helpful staff, and lots of things to do. We loved our stay there. We stayed in a Jungle Room which is quiet and away from the pool area.

The only thing I would warn people on is that if you plan to spend a lot of time at the beach, it's a bit of a walk to get there (10-15 minutes). The good side of that is that there are literally monkeys, sloths, hawks, and other wildlife surrounding the beach. The road getting to the hotel is a bit of an adventure, but that's half the fun of it.

What a nice surprise. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Our room had views from every direction. The service was off the chart. We felt very welcomed and catered too. Our suite was perfect and very clean. I came with 2 girlfriends and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

We stayed here for 3 days and definitely liked it. We had a superior view without much view, but if you get a premium room, you're likely to have a marvelous view. The hotel is situated on a point overlooking the ocean, so the view from the pool and restaurant is excellent.

Other high points: 1) the nature trails in the back/below the hotel were great - we saw 3-4 sloths and a group of 15 white-faced monkeys, 2) free shuttle to Manual Antonio beach/shops during the day, 3) with a 5 minute walk you can go to the secluded beach below the hotel, 4) excellent breakfast, 5) Happy Hour daily with 2 for 1 drinks (2 beers for $4).

Only complaint was the service at dinner in the hotel restaurant. Service was slow and took a long time to get the check, twice in a row.

A couple tips:
-The hotel is at the end of a 2 km unpaved road. No shops within walking distance, so you'll need to get a taxi to outside restaurants/shopping ($7-10 each way), if you don't use the hotel's daytime shuttle.
-We didn't hear good reviews for the Manuel Antonio Park tour. Plus you can get there on the hotel shuttle, so even if you plan to go there, don't hire a package tour with hotel pick-up.
-Dos Cocos El Mason Restaurant in Manual Antonio was excellent ($15 for mahi dinner and live music).

Just returned from a great trip, and wished we had stayed longer. This is a first class operation, and the food, pools, rooms, & service was perfect. ( and I am not easy to please).
This hotel offers tours through Iguana Tours, owned by Jorge, a wildlife biologist. We went to the National Park and took the Canopy tour. Our guides, Michael and Mauricio, respectively, were great, and extremely knowlegeable.
I can't overlook the transportation aspect, which included flights on Nature Air to and from San Jose and Quepos. In Quepos, the ground transportation was there and air-conditioned. And again, the staff was friendly and helpful.
The package price was very reasonable, when you consider all that's included.
A special acknowledgement to Sylvia Hernandez, the Guest Services Manager, who puts in long hours, and is always available to help.

When we first arrived, we were checked into the European Garden room. We were mortified. It was so terrible and depressing that we had to upgrade. We upgraded and the reception desk gave us a deal to move to one of the premium suites. When we got to that room, it was so clean, nicer bathroom, great view and balcony and great bed. It definitely made our honeymoon more enjoyable. The staff were really helpful and kind and the breakfast buffet was quite good. The spa was not too bad, although I think it could have been a bit better for the price you have to pay. Other than that, overall, it's definitely one of the finest hotels in Manuel Antonio, with lots to do and see. What was also great was the hotel had a shuttle to Manuel Antonio beach and National Park every few hours, so that was very useful. Although we did not try the room service, the food at the restaurant for dinner was good (esp. the blackened tuna). I would def. stay here again. Fantastic views!!!

The service at the Parador was apparant immediatly when we arrived, when we were greeted with cool facetowels and tropical drinks. We booked the superior room but ended up upgrading to the suites. The suite was absolutely gorgeous inside and the view from our balcony overlooking the resort and the pacific ocean was breathtaking. There are a choice of three pools on the property. We used the one that was exclusively for suite patrons, it was always quiet and kept very clean. There is lots of wildlife to be seen on the resort, we saw sloths, monkeys, lizards, and beautiful birds. We became friends with all the staff, they are a great group of people who will go to any extent to make your stay more enjoyable.
Wold stay here again in a heartbeat.

This place is beautiful. It had one of the best room views ever!
We stayed at one of the premium rooms. It was nice and the bed was really comfortable.
The main pool was ok, the adult pool is way better.
The real bummer is that it has no beach though. You have to walk outside the hotel and trhough a small forest to get there, but it's quite endeering, small and secluded.
The food is ok, pricy for the quality but not bad.
