Wonderful staff, breakfast buffet, rooms, pools, service. A very good option for a stay in quepos area/Manuel Antonio area. When we were there I was sick and the staff was so friendly and careful. They brought soup an fresh drinks, I didn't even ask for that, that was amazing! It would be good to have a rental car because they only offer a free shuttle to Manuel Antonio national park.

This has to be the most romantic and best kept secrets in Costa Rica. From the time we arrived it was nothing but non stop excellent service and pampering. The location is amazing and so private. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the views even in the afternoon rain showers. The breakfast was nothing short of spectacular, nothing like the usual Costa Rica Buffet found in most other resorts. The wet areas also had amazing views and if you wanted privacy and quite that was easy to find. The location built on the edge of the Pacific and in a rain forest was amazing, felt very safe and secure. The staff is awesome and most are bilingual, the tours are also top notch and right on time. We recommend the zip line.....it will cure your fear of heights in about 5 minutes. The hotel park tour was fantastic, a little more time at the beach would have been nice but having towels, fresh fruit and water made up for this!!!! This is a great place for a family or a couple... It is just a short cab ride to fine dining as well....The room was wonderful, with turn down service with chocolates at night was a treat.....The spa is a must, the hot rock massage followed by the steam room, we were so relaxed.... Pura Vita.... We will return.. 5 nights was not enough.

Room Tip: Room 420 was very private and had an awesome vista of the Pacific Ocean. And the open elevator was v...

This is my second trip to Parador. Upon arrival I was greeted with a warm "Welcome back." How awesome is that. The staff at the hotel made a special effort to make our stay very memorable and special. There are trails on the property where you can see many different types of wildlife, like squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, many many iguanas, lizards and I could go on and on. There is a store that sells snacks and drinks. The breakfast consists of fruit, eggs, breads and typical Costa Rican food. There is also a small private beach within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel has a shuttle that can take you down to Manuel Antonio so you can visit the park. There we saw sloths, monkeys, raccoons and many reptiles. Near the park are a few restaurants, bars and shops. The beach there is very beautiful and is a must see. Note that when you exit the park during high tide you will have two options. Walk through a small area of water or take a small boat. I think the boat costs $2 or so. We walked through the water and it was no big deal if you are prepared for, as I was since I had been there before. The hotel offers several different days trips, like zip lining, catamaran tours and fishing. Prices are reasonable and it is easy since you leave from the hotel. The best thing about this hotel is the views. If you get a suite, which I highly recommend, you can have a jacuzzi on your balcony and incredible views of the Pacific.

Room Tip: Get a suite if you can. The rooms are very spacious, well decorated and has beautiful views.

My fiance and I went to the Hotel Parador as part of a much larger group. We were greeted with wonderfully refreshing watermelon concoctions and cold towels which were very welcome after an 8 hour flight and 3 hour bus ride. Our room was amazing, with ocean and jungle views. What no one on our trip knew was that my fiance and I had been secretly planning to elope while we were there. I was a little apprehensive leaving all the details to a complete stranger who was thousands of miles away from me. But, I have to say, Silvia Hernandez, you are the best. She took care of all the details and made our secret ceremony better than we could have possibly dreamed. From the flowers, to the ceremony location,to the photographer and our private dinner, everything was impeccable! I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The service was wonderful, the staff friendly and very helpful. The grounds are beautiful. The spa... Oh how I wish I could have spent more time in the spa. If you want beauty, go to the Hotel Parador. If you want luxury, go to the Hotel Parador. If you want to escape your life for a little while, go to the Hotel Parador. Just go to this hotel!!!!! You won't regret it!

We were located in a garden room. In the early morning we enjoyed coffee on our patio while watching the marvelous butterflies and humming birds feeding on the flowering bushes. After we woke up, by 06:00 Zulu, we had breakfast outside on the restaurant veranda and waited for howler monkeys to start moving. Without fail between 06:00 and 06:30 Zulu they were on the move. Later we walked towards the trails that would take us into the rainforest jungle. For about 3 days we passed a 3 toed sloth along the way. He was approx. 4 feet higher than us and about 10 to 15 feet away. The trails were just that - trails. No dirt roads or wide cleared paths, but simple dirt paths, usually 3 feet wide max (there were openings on occasion). The terrain was up and down as we traversed the mountainside. The path floor was either dirt, dirt with roots on the inclines, or in some cases large flat stones or cement blocks were strategically placed to stop hikers from sliding several meters down the trail into who knows what. The wildlife was abundant. Everyday we saw at least two troops of howler monkeys, two troops and maybe a third small troop of capuchin monkeys, (we did not see the TiTi (Squirrel) monkeys, I suspect because of the high presence of the Howlers. Spotted 2 agoutis slowly crossing our path up ahead of us, and spotted a coati quickly crossing our path at Biesanz Beach. On a night hike, (Guided only! This is when the bad boys are very active and you can get into trouble really fast.), we spotted and handled red eyed tree frogs, spotted "big head" frogs, (they are completely golden in color), poisonous tarantulas, (what were and still are called the banana spider). On a stop en-route to the Parador we spotted 2 very large Scarlet Macaws. They flew gracefully to the top of a tree not far from us and after a while they gracefully flew away. My wife saw them again the next day. We also saw a flock of green parrots fly slowly by just below us "in formation". I could keep on writing, but I have to go. I highly recommend this trip to those who really love nature, rainforest jungles, and, and, are fit enough to enjoy it. Temperatures were well into the 90's F if not higher and the humidity was only a degree or so off the temperature. The trails are tough and breathing is hard. But if you are up for it, I HIGHLY RECOMMED IT!

Stayed here for 1 night during a FAM trip in April. Rooms were clean and comfortable, food excellent (great sushi) and location near the national park was an added bonus. There was a fishing tournament on and the hotel was full however this did not detract from the great experience I had here. I would highly recommend my clients to stay here.

We spent 5 nights here and loved every minute! We were in one of the Vista Suites and had a lovely view of the Pacific. Every evening and morning we got to hear the sound of the howler monkeys and birds and it definitely told us we were in the jungle although the accomodations were anything but rustic. In fact, this property is at the end of the road, so you don't hear any noises of civilization which is absolutely perfect! There is a shower and separate tub inside the room, and a jacuzzi outside on the balcony, and, on our last night (our anniversary) the staff had filled it with a hot bubble bath with candles and flowers leading to it. Magical!

The included breakfast was delicious and varied and, as other reviewers have noted, the Monkey Trail on the property provides a great opportunity to see wildlife. The only moving sloth we saw was on the Monkey Trail....sloths, by nature, are rather immobile creatures and we were pretty excited to see one "in action." The hotel offers several shuttles a day to/from Manuel Antonio Park which is nice, even if you have a car, as it saves you the cost of parking. There are also lots of lizards and raccoons on the property, as well as some beautiful butterflies. WiFi was also available in the room which made it nice when I wanted to check out where to eat. The staff was friendly and the pools very nice. The suites have a separate pool, but there is an 'adults only' pool available near the entry too. We didn't see a lot of children during our stay but that probably changes during the summer. There is a self-service laundry that costs $4 to wash and $4 to dry per load. They also sell laundry detergent if you didn't bring your own. There is a gated entry to the property so if you are in a rental car you don't have to worry about the security of your vehicle. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Room Tip: Stay in a Vista Suite!
