“A great place to finish your holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

After a tour of Costa Rica this is a great place to wind down, standards are high, very comfortable rooms with nothing to much to ask for. Many restaurants and bars to choose from with good views of the Pacific. A small beach close by is well worth a visit. The onsite guides are very knowledgable and an early morning walk around the Monkey trails are a must. The quiet Adults only pool is a good idea.Breakfast is taken buffet style with good options ( Rice & Beans always available) as is the eggs as you like them lady. A bit expensive as service & tax are added to restaurant bills, but still a grat place to stay.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are great,

Fabulous! We are thrilled you had such a wonderful time at our resort – the breakfast buffet, private beach, adult pool, and monkey trail,

As Manuel Antonio's premier 4 star resort, we take a lot of pride and recognition of our guests comments on our service and staff.

We appreciate you taking the time to share with others what your impression was of Parador Resort & Spa.

We hope to welcome you back in the near future!

Two nights here on the way back to San Jose following a tour of Costa Rica. Room lovely with a balcony overlooking the gardens, very clean and comfortable with a well stocked bathroom. Did wonder if there was a problem as plug in air fresheners in room and bathroom. Free Internet access in the bedroom. Dinner not to my liking, too many flavours on a plate and the portion size too large, but others in the party enjoyed theirs. Buffet breakfast was OK although not exceptional for somewhere calling itself 'Boutique'. The staff were helpful and friendly and the small shop well stocked and reasonably priced for those last minute gifts. Pools looked interesting.

Thank you for sharing your comments about your stay in this forum. We are sad to hear that our breakfast buffet was not to your expectations as we strive to offer the highest quality experience in our restaurants using fresh ingredients and offering a wide array of dishes to please our guests. Many thanks again for your feedback.

After 11 years returned to Hotel Parador with my kids and grand kids
Major change, from the small very personal hotel to a large resort.
Our start at check in was difficult as we arrived early and check in was very slow,
The reception desk would not inform us of the time our rooms would be finished for
check in, they were not very helpful or friendly. After about 4 hours, we received our rooms
219 and 220. The rooms were dingy, not very clean and very poor internet reception.
So we complained to customer service and CAROLINA arrived to the rescue.
Caroline was just great, helped to turn our vacation into the best of experiences and
after room changes, great reception we enjoyed our 4 nights of stay

Room Tip: If you book on the web make sure you specify the rooms and beds you getting ! Do not arrive before...

Thank you for sharing your comments on Trip Advisor. First and foremost, we want to thank you for being a loyal customer. Yes, in 11 years, the resort has grown, but at the same time, we have focused on ensuring that our service and experience remains personal. We noticed that your experience did not start that well, however, we are happy to see that Carolina exceed your expectations turning the situation around so you could enjoy your vacation as you had planned. Thank you again for your visit and hope to welcome you back in the near future!

From the moment we arrived at the Hotel Parador after a long flight and car ride, we were made to feel welcome and pampered. We were greeted by name and were offered a delicious tropical drink. We were then taken by golf cart through the lovely grounds to our garden room. When the driver saw my look of disappointment at the room (dark, spare), he immediately arranged to have us upgraded to a lovely tropical room with an ocean view. Throughout our stay we felt pampered by the staff. Every effort was made by the staff to make our stay wonderful.

The grounds are beautiful with paved paths as well as nature paths, several pools, different dining options. The included buffet breakfast was quite good. There were a few options for lunch including a lovely salad bar at the pool. At happy hour wonderful drinks (including the best pina coladas) were offered for 1/2 price. The dinner menu had some variety and was quite decent.

The hotel was located at the end of the road--a welcome sight. They offered free shuttle service to the Manuel Antonio National Park--definitely worth taking advantage of. Taxis charged $10 each way to nearby restaurants.

The only negative was the insufficient number of chaise lounges by the pools. Some guests came early and reserved the lounges and then left for hours while they did other things. Perhaps the hotel could manage this by limiting time people can leave the chaise unoccupied.

A superb place to rest up after a full on holiday travelling. Excellent staff, superb restaurants but quite pricey, lovely selection of swimming pools and well stocked gift shops. Iguanas and various types of monkeys are regular visitors here as are a large selection of birds - no need to pay the high price for the National Park when all you see are tourists, tourists and more tourists scaring the wildlife into the jungle! I loved this hotel and did not want to leave. The rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean with all you could possibly need ie Oreo cookies to beer and sodas in the mini bar!

Upon arriving we were upgraded to a master vista suite with a massive balcony that had sweeping ocean views not to mention a very spacious bedroom, living room, and bathroom. When not in the room we spent most of our time at the main pool which consisted of 2 pools and a swim up pool bar and had great views while lounging. We spent a small amount of time at the adult pool which was best suited for people who wanted to sleep or read.

Breakfast was complimentary and consisted of both hot and cold options and plenty of fruit. The restaurant also served lunch and dinner and while we enjoyed our lunches I definitely recommend going off the property for dinner. You can get pretty much anywhere you would want to eat for a $10 taxi ride and the taxis take USD. We did enjoy the nightly happy hour where drinks and food were basically half off.

All in all it was an exceptionally relaxing time and while you were luxuriating you also felt close to nature. The staff was attentive while also laid back. For those who don't like seeing lizards crawl across the walk or monkeys swinging from trees this place is definitely not for you. Also if you want to get to the national park they offer a free shuttle service to and from.

This hotel went up and beyond my expectations. This was luxury from start to end. The best hotel I have ever stayed in – Ever.
The staff was kind and very service minded, and made my stay super pleasant.
Rooms where of the best quality, they were clean and air-conditioned. Pool areas with one of the best views in Manuel Antonio. Great restaurant with excellent service.
Me and my girlfriend where treated like royalties, which made our stay the best in 15 days in Costa Rica.
Book it, and enjoy – You won’t regret.

Room Tip: Get a room in the newest building. Best chance of good ocean view.
