Ran into this hotel by ---fate (?) Beautiful, clean, and pool was great. Staff was fabulous. Views superb. Shared restaurant next door was excellent. Away from all the hustle and bustle from town. 5 Minutes from the park. Would go there again for sure.

Room Tip: Check rooms farther away from road. LOTS of stairs!!!

The hotel looks nice and the room is ok. The air conditioner didn't show what temperature you have it set at so the room never got as cool as I wanted. The worst part was the shower didn't work as the shower head was blocked with hard water residue. (see the picture)

When I checked out I told them about the shower and showed them a picture of the shower head. All they could do is look surprised and state that they needed to replace the shower head. No apology and no attempt to recover.

Not a place I would ever stay again.

The best option to enjoy nature, fantastic food and service. Plus, an environmental project on premises that was the first of its kind in the region.
Three pools, full breakfast included, the best restaurant in the area (and one of the few places where I had plenty to choose from because I am vegetarian).
And the monkeys, and sloths, and coatis mundis, and the other animals made you wonder if this was a reserve.
It also has access for wheelchairs if needed.

The grounds of the hotel was wonderful. I think we were on the edge of the preserved rainforest. From either balcony (we had two) of our little casita, we can watch toucans, monkeys, geckos, lizards, green parrots and a wide variety of birds with our naked eye. With our binoculars, we can spend hours there. The nights are noisy. Filled with animal noises. We were close by the road, but the howling monkeys kept me up at night.

The lower floor of the casitas sleeps 3 and we have 4, so they gave us the top floor that sleeps 2. They opened the connecting door between the two floors so it's pretty cute. We have our own little house, a casita. The beds were comfortable. The windows were weird. Very heavy. I almost slammed my finger when I finally figured out the latch that held it up. Not all the windows open for a cross breeze. There is air conditioning. The bathrooms........... the soap dispensers and toilet paper dispensers are the industrial kind. One would pump for the soap at the sink and in the shower. Toilet paper is in the dispenser you get at a public restroom. I want to say the shower is Moorish style... Open, tile, with a step in entrance. Reading some of the reviews for other hotels about broken tiles that cut one's toes, this one is nicely tiled. No chips, no unevenness. All very functional. Just not pretty. Very functional. Tile floors throughout for easy cleaning I guess. Functional.

There are a LOT of stairs on this property. It's kind of meandering. Be ready to carry your roller suitcase. Not for people with bad knees.

The staff is amazingly. They are helpful, friendly and warm. The restaurant staff is the same. Pura Vida! We had a great time.

Hotel Casitas Eclipse is a wonderful, secluded hotel just a short drive up the hill from the gorgeous beach at Manuel Antonio. Rooms were nice and located in a variety of buildings, with beautiful landscaped terraces and walkways, including an amazing trail through the rain-forest behind the hotel, which is actually part of the overall grounds. A very relaxing pool was almost completely empty when we visited during high season, except for another family. A large restaurant (Gato Negro - The Black Cat) that is connected to the hotel means you don't have to travel anywhere else for dinner once you've settled in for the evening. Or, you can cross the street and dine at the unique El Avion Restaurant, which features both a spectacular view of the beach and nearby islands. The entire restaurant is built around a downed Fairchild C-123 aircraft that was shot down during the Reagan Administration in its struggle with Nicaragua's Sandinistas! You may want to get a picture of yourself sitting in the cockpit or enjoy a pineapple smoothie while watching paragliders on the beach side of the restaurant.
