“Thanks for a Pura Vida Manuel Antonio stay”
Reviewed July 14, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

IF you are looking to spend 500$ per night and above as you want to waste your money, then this review is not for you but if you are looking for great value in a great location then read ahead to learn more:

I traveled to Manuel Antonio with my family of four and stayed here for couple of days.

- As soon as you send your reservation, Sarah sends a detailed email which goes over everything that you need to know about the place, do/dont's etc which is very helpful.

- As soon as you go there, the housekeeper's son Inger gave us all information. He speaks English so it is easy to communicate for us.
His dad Bismark is a very helpful and certainly Sarah is there to help out if you call her. Bismarck speaks Spanish but both his kids are comfortable with English.

This place has history - Beisanz Beach house - Beisanz are well known in this area and their family members have written books, own a woodshop which is well known.

The view from this house is amazing from the Great balcony where we spent a lot of time chilling. This was certainly our favorite part of the house.
Next to the balcony, there were trees where we got see 2 sloths so close.Early in the morning, wake up and you will see monkeys having a fun time.

Also is very close to the beach as the pathway to go there is opposite the house. The national park is around 2.5 km from this place.

As you come from a fun time at the beach, the outside shower surrounded by orchids was useful to get my kids to remove all the pocket sand. We borrowed the binoculars which came useful in the national park. Also I got to read some fun books left behind or kept there by Sarah's family.

The place is well equipped in the kitchen. Some furnishings or decorative items can be updated in the bathroom and rooms but we did not care.\
For folks who cannot walk up stairs, this might be a little difficult but certainly worth the climb.

Thanks Sarah for accommodating us. Certainly will return when we come back.

The pictures don't lie. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beachouse. We could have stayed longer with no agenda.
DO : relax and reconnect with a simpler life. Surf, swim, waste the day away in the hammock on the balcony. SHOP : Quepos farmer's market (Fri.afternoon, Sat morning), HIKE : Rainmaker Preserve, Manuel Antonio Park, EAT : local fruits, Cafe Milagro, Falls Restaurant and various restaurants in Manuel Antonio area, deep fried red snapper at El Escape in Quepos.

“Spectacular, cozy, value for money”

1. Great, prompt, straight and honest communication with the owner. Helpful and prudent attitude, covering all the details. Thanks, Sarah! Unfortunatelly we don't speak Spanish, but we still managed with the really friendly Bismark (and if not, visitors on the spot or Sarah on the phone helped us out...). Thanks again. I would also thank to the direction tips to former reviewers.
2. Perfect view, nice surroundings. The beaches are really in walking distance, the uphill walk and the steps provide a little training, but won't overtire you (my 6-year old usually made it on his own foot). Though after hiking in the National Park we asked for a taxi to get back home... The children couldn't wait to catch sight of the "promised" monkeys, and they didn't have to wait in vain: we saw them on a nearby tree in two hours after arriving :)
3. Lovely details: little guiding sings around the apartment to make you feel more at home, orchids at the really useful outside shower, the beach things to borrow, the extensive spice collection in the kitchen... The children loved the games, binoculars and I was happy to find quality books on the little bookshelf (not to mention that special Harry Potter edition:))
4. The whole apartment is well equipped: kitchen utensils are wellkept and clean, the blender works fine. The furniture at the lower floor (bedrooms) is a little used but nothing inconvinient (curtains covering the storage places would improve the mood). Anyway, we spent most of our time at the magnificient balcony... and of course out in the nature.
