This is an interesting restaurant amidst the many options in the area. The menu is not overly creative, the prices are slightly high for the quality, but it was a good option nonetheless.

Dear LouisMamma,

Thanks for taking the time to post on the Trip Advisor forum. Most of our guests seem to enjoy our daily selections of fresh fish which are prepared with local fresh ingredients to highlight the specific flavors and texture of the protein. For the non fish eaters we also have some interesting selections of pasta, beef, and our chef’s special cognac pork with green pepper corns. We offer a variety of appetizers including our avocado tempura which we think is pretty creative and quite tasty. As for the prices, your meal was slightly over $40 which included an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. The mandatory tax and service was added to the bill as well. As a small restaurant, we also have the ability to cater to specific dietary needs requirements or tastes. We can also make most vegetarians happy and are in the process of creating some on the menu vegetarian options. So, if any of our guests have a special request, we will go out of our way to accommodate. Just ask us.

Thanks Again for dining with us,
The Falls Garden Café Staff, Management, and Owners

Quite a good burger and good casado too (for my wife and I) for lunch. The service was a bit lacking (never refilled our waters and generally just had us on our own). Still, it was quite tasty and we recommend it for a lunch joint (no idea how the dinner is).

All 14 people (ranging in age from 7 to 70!) enjoyed the meal- fresh fish, great margaritas, kids meals and more. We spoke with the owner who was friendly and accommodating, as was the waiter.

I went to this restaurant during a weekend stay in Manuel Antonio after going on the El Santuario Canopy Tour. I recommend both the restaurant and canopy tour highly (both are owned by a lovely and helpful couple). The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing, with tranquil views of rainforest greenery. The decor of the restaurant was perfect, as was the food and service. The owners and servers were very welcoming and take great pride in their work. I would definitely go back here!

We had read great reviews about this restaurant and attempted to try it on a Sunday evening. Unfortunately there is no dinner service on Sundays, but the head waiter Luis gave us recommendations for nearby eateries, and then gave us a card for the Falls for 10% off our meal. We decided to return the next evening, which happened to be Christmas Eve. Dinner service did not begin until 6pm and they had many reservations booked, and we did not have a reservation. Again, we were greeted by Luis, and were able to be served. He was more than accommodating for us. He served us a sweet potato chip appetizer prior to our meals being served. Our daughter was ecstatic that chicken fingers and chips were on the menu -a first for her in Costa Rica. My husband ordered the seafood tagliatelle, which is served in a dill cream sauce that was slightly sweet, but very good. I ordered the pineapple tuna which was served with curry ginger potatoes and vegetables. I think my dish was the best, as the pineapple added the perfect amount of sweetness to the fish, and the curry potatoes were out of this world. I have written many other reviews about restaurants because my ex-chef husband tends to be picky. But, for this restaurant he said all three of his main criteria were met or exceeded. The first being the quality and freshness of the food, which was very good. Secondly the cleanliness of the restaurant. The bathroom was clean as well as the restaurant itself. Lastly the wait staff were great. Luis even gave our daughter a brownie sundae - probably because she sang him the 12 days of Christmas in Spanish. It was a very thoughtful gesture and made for a great walk back to our hotel.
We would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. Although we love to travel and try local food and flavors, we appreciate what the chef at the Falls has done to mix some of the local flavor with favorite American dishes. Prices were very reasonable as well, meaning dinner for the three of us with drinks was under $50.
