You get what you pay for, and this is definitely cheap at $12 per person.
The negative: The rooms are small, and contain nothing but a bed and a night-table. We switched from the first room we got because it smelled faintly like urine, and got a different room... which also smelled. We got used to it. There were streaks on the wall, and some small glass panes missing. The communal bathrooms were the worst on our entire trip in terms of smell and there is no hot water.
The positive: The restaurant offers excellent and relatively cheap meals (especially breakfast for four dollars, loaded with food), the staff are friendly and the location is simply unbeatable, just five minutes walk to the Manuel Antonio park entrance. This place could be so much better if the owners invested in some renovation, particularly the toilets and the walls.More
