The homemade pasta was great, and two of the three Tapas plates were good (ahi and shredded beef, the pork was tough). They have a couple of very sweet rescue dogs and some cats that kids can pet (apparently no CR health department...). The owner, Marcella, is super sweet and friendly, but the service is glacial (three tables occupied). I upgraded the three star food rating because of the view stunning moonlit view of the pacific and the super awesome gauro sours. Finally - it was pricy for Costa Rica (thanks to being in the park) DC metro prices for food and drinks.

we ate dinner here with our kids, and were overcharged by $15. my husband had noticed the table next to us looking confusedly at their bill, it was obvious their numbers were not adding up. he checked ours carefully and caught the "mistake", which was corrected when brought to managements' attention. we left with a bad taste in our mouths, will not return. the food was okay, and on a good note there was a great little blues band playing.

This place kind if reminded me of a Latin American sports bar...minus the frat guys/middle aged men who are mentally more like teenage boys. They have a tapas menu and an entree menu, but the tapas menu contains items such as carne Asada and chips, shish kabobs with mashed potatoes, onion rings, fajitas, and burritos. While not the classiest place, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the owners are always around making sure you're enjoying yourself. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you're allergic to pets...the owners' two adorable dogs and cute kitty freely walk around (and often wait patiently next to your chair in the hopes of getting some tasty food for themselves). I LOVE animals, so I found this to be really exciting. The prices are very affordable. This place is great for couples, families, and big groups alike.

This place is amazing! Great food, fun atmosphere, awesome view and good service. Such a relaxed atmosphere with the owners dogs hanging out. Made us feel very comfortable just like home. The tapas here are wonderful! You could easily make a meal out of a few. Try the Guaro Sours. These were our favorite drinks in all of CR! Ate here a few times and really loved it! Truly a hidden gem!

In general, we found restaurants in 4 areas of Costa Rica to be poor quality and expensive, with 5 star resorts no more expensive than "sodas" or "tipicos". The food at Salsipuedes was much more in keeping to our high standards. Vegetables were fresh, there was actually a choice of seafoods, drinks were even cheap, and food prices were very good. Anyone who has been to Costa Rica lately would agree prices have spiraled out of control. This is not a factor of a weak dollar, as travellers of numerous countries as well as part-time foreign residents commented to that effect during our visit. It is no wonder Ticos eat only rice, beans, tropical fruits and eggs. In general CR food is bland and very expensive. A couple of Argentinians who bought a house overlooking the ocean and turned it into a great, open air restaurant near Manuel Antonio are to be commended for their efforts. However, as the water supply outside of the central mountains is generally not potable for us Gringos, I recommend the drinks be taken without ice. We found fabulous fresh and tasty food at reasonable prices at Cantiina Salsipuedes. Note it is closed on Tuesdays.
