This was our last stop in Costa Rica. Great location vis-a-vis Manuel Antonio park and the beach. Nice, large room. We had air conditioning so not sure about why another review said there was none (we had room 407). Nice pool and water slide. Great buffet breakfast. Super nice bathroom and shower. I'd rate it higher but our other stops in Costa Rica were just spectacular!

Room Tip: Our room (407) was fine.

If you are visiting Manuel Antonio for a few days, the Hotel San Bada's location is perfect. It is right next to the park, and we saw howler and squirrel monkeys right outside our room many times. The hotel itself, however, is in need of an update. We stayed in the Mogote Suite, and the size of the room and the views from the private deck were great. But the Jacuzzi and ceiling fan didn't work, the hot water went out, and the facility was understaffed. The restaurant was passable for breakfast but dinner was not good. It is a quick walk to the beach, which is lovely, but you are required to walk through a tourist trap of makeshift shops to get there. If San Bada could spruce up the rooms, the restaurant and add staff it would be an excellent place to stay.

Room Tip: Mogote Suite has great views and an amazing private deck - also quite spacious

This was our fourth resort with Caravan Tours and this place did not impress me. This was the only one with no coffee in the room and ice was in the restaurant next door. All you could see from the room were trees. The restaurant had the same food as the other three resorts and was not air conditioned. In fact, we ordered club sandwiches to eat in our room. Was glad to leave.

Nice hotel with large rooms and good beds. This hotel is next to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park. Don´t have any negatives. I cannot commnet on meals because I did not eat in the restaurant. Nice view from the 6th floor with a pool for adults.

Our stay was only one night as part of a tour. The room was very comfortable, but agree with another review that the rooms looked "unfinished." Small balcony off our room was very close to the park and any wildlife that might have happened our way. We did not stay long enough to enjoy all of the amenities, but the proximity of the state park was practically at our doorstep. Beautiful beach and many hiking trails. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the rooftop lounge. We had a nice dinner and breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed there this past weekend for the final few days of our honeymoon and just can't say enough things about San Bada. We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the park but we discovered so many more reasons to stay there. The property is beautiful. The rooms were really nicely done, and had great views. We had dinner our first night there and it was terrific! Plus, we had a couples massage at the Spa which was a big (really big!) hit. But the real standout at the San Bada was the staff. Everyone was super nice all the time. Big shout out to Jorge who runs the restaurant and Marilyn from sales who each went out of their way to make the last few days of our honeymoon were really special. My wife stopped by the front desk a few times to ask questions or get advice and Christian remembered her name each and every time. That kind of thing just makes you like a hotel and want to stay there again. Two thumbs up for the San Bada!

Room Tip: Everyone loves to stay in the front of a hotel but rooms in the back gave great views of the park.

If you would like to have the wildlife come to you I would highly recommend Hotel San Bada. The hotel appears to be a darling of a tour company and had large buses arrive and leave daily. We were never bothered by the buses and found ourselves well cared for by the staff. We had a room on the 5th floor with a large tree that provided nightly entertainment (20 spider monkeys, an huge iguana, turkey vultures and several beautiful birds. The 6th floor is a bar and sunset viewing area that is not to be missed. The pool was a little dated, but did have a swim up bar with a lovely young lady that made wonderful pina coladas and shared great information about Costa Rica and the local area. As for location to the park--there is none better! We walked out our hotel and into the park!
