“Incredible views and fantastic location!”
Reviewed August 19, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

My husband, 13 year old son and I recently spent a week in a two bedroom condo on the 2nd floor at Pacifco Colonial. We absolutely loved our stay! The view from the large (50 foot) balcony was incredible! The condo itself was immaculate and had everything we needed including a 42 inch flat screen tv with a few English channels (for my son) and and iPod docking station and free WiFi (for myself). The king sized bed in the master bedroom was super comfortable and my son also raved about the bed he had in the second bedroom. We had two washrooms and the water pressure was great. We had a washer/dryer in the condo and laundry soap was provided which was really good. Beach and pool towels are also available.

Melissa and her staff could not have been more helpful and recommended various excursions and restaurants in town. We felt very safe at the condo (conceirge service everyday all day) and then a guard on duty from 6pm until early morning each day. The pool itself is more of splash pool than a swimming pool, but this was fine with us as we spent everyday out exploring the area anyway. My son did go into the pool a few times and he was quite happy with it.

It was amazing to sit on the balcony and watch the storms roll in. We had some fantastic late evening t-storms with the longest lightening show I have ever seen. Although there was torrential rain a few evenings, by morning you would not know that it had rained.

We rented a car and drove from San Jose to Manuel Antonio. This took about 2.5 hours. It was a fairly easy drive, however you should note the driving in CR is quite different than the driving in North American. I would recommend getting a GPS as there are no signs anywhere!!! We never would have found our way to Manuel Antonio without the GPS. Cars continually cut in front of you and there are some roads that are desperately in need of repair. Upon arriving in Quepos and driving into MA, the roads is quite narrow, very hilly and quite twisty. If you are a nervous driver I would recommend you book a driver through Pacifico Colonial instead of renting a car. We actually did not need a car upon arrival in MA, as everything is pretty much within walking distance (or is only a short bus ride away). Having said that, we did drive 1.5 hours south of MA one day to Playa Uvita to see "the whale's tail" which we really enjoyed.

A small grocery store is about a two minute walk from the condo and you can stock up on essentials there (including beer and wine). We had breakfast at the condo each morning and then ate lunch and dinner out. We were thrilled with the selection of restaurants in the area. Our favourite was Cafe Agua Azul - terrific view and terrific food! A trip to Ronny's Place for a Sangria is also in order. Great view and the best Sangria ever! Get there at 5:30 to enjoy the sunset (it is dark by just past 6pm each night).

We did a private tour of MA National Park with Johan Chaves, a day trip inot the rainforest with Don of Vacation Buggy, a day zip-lining with Mid World and a my son did some surf lessons at Dante's Water Sports located on MA beach. I would highly recommend all of these companies as we found the service to be fantastic.

MA is a great spot. It is not an area which is covered with highrise condos, which we loved. It is still very quaint, but has a lot to offer. We were sorry we only had a week to spend there.

We are looking forward to returniing to MA and when we do we will be sure to stay once again at Pacifico Colonial. Thanks Mellissa! It was an absolutely pleasure to meet both you and your staff. We will definitely be recommending Pacifico Colonial to family and friends, in fact we already have!

“Wonderful Place with Excellent Staff”
Reviewed April 25, 2012 for a stay in April 2012

We spent 6 nights here enjoying the wonderful view and accomodations. Very clean and located close to good reataurants and cafes. A nearby grocery enabled us to cook in occasionally and enjoy the superb ocean view while eating. Ailyn and Melissa were friendly and very helpful and made our stay a great experience.

“A great location, and friendly helpful staff, mad for one fantastic week.”
Reviewed April 15, 2012 for a stay in April 2012

Pacifico Colonial is ideally located near Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio and it's impressive restaurant scene (Kapi Kapi and Victoria's are musts). The friendly staff was extremely helpful in arranging for various excursions in the area and providing any help you might need. We had an exciting and safe time during our stay and would recommend a visit without hesitation.
