The hotel was clean and a similar standard or quality to the other hotels in the area. It needs updating but for the area it seemed consistent with the rest. The view when you walk in is stunning and it’s beautiful from the pool and most rooms. @

This hotel tends to exploit its market niche for gay men.

At US$245 a night, plus taxes, the room we had was very basic with only one night table for a king size bed, no bathroom cupboard to store anything and only uncomfortable plastic chairs. Admittedly, the balcony view was fantastic, but moving around the hotel, including to the 10’ pool and bar/breakfast tables took at least 20 stairs - not accessible in the least.

The breakfast was of generally poor quality other than excellent fruit, but with good service.

We will not be back!

For those who have stayed here in the past with the prior owners, know that it is still great. Some staff have changed. I checked out today after an 8 night stay and thoroughly enjoyed it as I did when I was here a year and a half ago. Can’t beat the views. Workers care about the guests. Free breakfast served by pleasant Irene. Decent priced drinks brought to you poolside by Maurice. Door handle fixed by handy Gary. Excursions and restaurant advice and extra requests by Gerald and Jose. Room cleaned daily. Pool water cleared after it murked up. Thank you everyone at Villa Roca for making our stay so wonderful. Oh, one negative thing: hot tub was not heated after first night. I forgot to ask why.

The hotel has great landscaping and well kept grounds. The pool and bar has an ocean view with a full menu breakfast included, and a friendly bartender. Also the front office staff Jose' and especially Gerald go the the extra mile to help explain and set up the best tours in the area and they are there for your needs! The room #5 had a great ocean view with balcony, but however I wish the lighting in bathroom could allow to see yourself shaving...ouch! Plus there should be a table in the room to place your luggage. Also the TV should have more English channels that are not only FOX news, poor choice. All in all I recommend this Hotel and will look forward to a return trip!

The hotel is clean and tidy, and the house staff seem to do a good job. The pool area and grounds are well maintained. The rooms would best describe as rustic, in need of some significant modernisation and basic maintenance. In the end, we had to fix the wardrobe sliding door our self as the guy at reception could not remember us reporting the problem. We had Unit 1 which had a nice balcony view, but the rooms were so small that the beds had to be pushed up against the walls to fit. The bathroom was small, with simple shower curtain around a shower which was at eye level.

We were told the sunset cruise was overbooked for Wednesday having booked this months ahead. We later found through conversation that company which operates exclusive LGBT had received a large booking and the cruise would have been mostly straight – so not any way to treat your clientele
