“Our best meal in 8 days in Costa Rica!”
Reviewed August 23, 2014

We had outstanding meals and service. Owned by a US couple who migrated here in the mid 90s. They also source and roast coffee.

Just a very pleasant place where you can relax and have a choice of many fine dishes. We regret that we dined on our last nite in CR and were unable to go back.

“Poor Service Mars an Otherwise Nice Restaurant”
Reviewed August 23, 2014

I hate to give this place a mediocre review because the atmosphere is so nice and the food is quite good. However, the service left me feeling lukewarm. I visited Cafe Milagro more than once as to give them a fair chance. Both times the staff acted generally disinterested and even somewhat annoyed by the idea of providing service (with a couple exceptions). Apparently, asking someone to provide a new drink after being served one with a bug in it is just too much. They refused to speak to me in Spanish despite the fact I've lived in CR for awhile and know the language. Things like that just get annoying after awhile.

The food I found to be fresh and different from the typical beach fare. Prices are high even for MA but I would find them warranted if only they could improve their customer service a smidge.

Hi Mary. We are so very sorry to hear you did not receive the service everyone deserves. This is highly unusual for Cafe Milagro and frankly we are surprised and of course disappointed not to have pleased you. We have a super dedicated and invested staff, they are usually rockstars, and we are confident should you decide to give us another opportunity to serve you we will impress. Regarding our staff speaking English, they are simply excited to be practicing another language and want to show off! Our apologies for their over-enthusiasm and should this theme come up again, kindly request they speak to you in Spanish and we can assure you they will oblige. It's highly innocent on their part.

We had dinner here one night and sat in garden area. Close walk from hotel we were staying at. Waitress spoke English which was helpful and food was delicious. They serve plenty of food and average price for area.

“Excellent food and coffee”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

Cafe Milagro quickly became our "go to" place at MA. We've been there for breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon snacks and have not been disappointed. They have a large selection of coffee and other drinks with delicious desserts if you need a quick pick-me-up in the afternoon. At night, they have a live band so a good place to linger after dinner. Great service, great food at reasonable prices.

“Great food and service”

We went for a nice dinner with new friends and found the food to be excellent and well priced. We also ate breakfast there, which was good. We also had the opportunity to stop by for dessert and really loved the banana split!
