We were absolutely impressed by Falls Resort. We own a boutique hotel in Samara, and we often travel in Costa Rica looking for properties to recommend to our hotel guests who travel to other areas in CR. This is the nicest hotel that we have found at a beach location (well, besides our own!). Everything at this hotel is very comfortable, designed to North American standards---not common here in CR, and the staff is extremely helpful and attentive. It was a wonderful surprise, from the excellent bedding, the spacious bathroom, to the great service at the restaurant. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our guests!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Deluxi King room.

This place has the perfect location. Its pretty much across the street from El Avion (the plane) restaurant, on top of the hill that leads down to Manuel Antonio beach and national park. The bus stop is across the street so whether you want to walk to the park/beach or bus it, it couldn't be more convenient. We walked to dinner each night and there are plenty of choices. The hotel is small and intimate, however the rooms are very spacious with a walk in shower and walk in closets. The staff, each and every one, is phenomenal! Now for the absolute best part, this was our 4th and final location on a 12 day trip. We went on several guides hikes, hands down, our hotel grounds here is where we viewed the best wildlife close up. (with the possible exception of the mangrove tour/monkeys on our heads-see my review of them for those details.) We must have had 30 spider monkeys traveling through the grounds flying from tree to tree, onto the deck railings, up to rooftops. It caught me off guard with no camera but our friends have amazing photos and videos of the fantastic aerial gymnastics. Then, we had a visit from a 2 toed sloth which hung around for over 2 days. It was right on the decking outside of a room, then onto a neighboring tree and then it was found the following morning up on top of a bookcase in the hotel lobby. Just amazing to watch this guy for as long as we liked at such close range (literally 2-3 feet away). Thanks to Catalina from CR Referrals for hooking us up with this place and thanks to the entire staff for such an enjoyable and very memorable stay! Will try to attach a video to my review if it allows. Its the most and furthest we saw any sloth move.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 11. They seem to go in rooms of 2 on top floor, 2 on bottom, then same as you cont...

My husband and myself recently returned home from a 4 week trip traveling around Costa Rica. We started at the Falls Resort in Manuel Antonio and it was our favourite stop. I can't understand why it wasn't listed in our guide book. We stayed in a Deluxe Room for 5 days. The room was large and very comfortable. The grounds of the hotel are just amazing and full of wild life. On our first day there was a sloth visiting the hotel and we were entertained by this wonderful animal for a couple of days. There were lots of monkeys and birds. It is an easy down hill walk to the park and a cheap local bus ride back. The staff and owners are very helpful and friendly. The food was very good and dinner was an excellent value. This hotel definitely deserves the high rating from other Tripadvisor writers.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are a little closer to the lobby.

An amazing hotel I will stay again , staff were top notch, front desk was so accommodating. I forgot my brand new bathing suit in the room and a few days later I called and they passed it on to my sister who was also staying there. The view from our upper room was so relaxing with a beautiful balcony. My air conditioner froze up (i think I had it to cold) within minutes the worker had it fixed and was sooooo charming!! Very relaxing and freat staff

Room Tip: Top units are great or back units away from the restaurant. My son stayed in a ground level room clo...

This place was great - a surprise of our trip. The pool was very relaxing after a long day, the food was absolutely delicious that they serve there, the rooms were more than sufficient with your own relaxing outdoor hammock for each and the staff was incredibly helpful. We had a wonderful experience - very reasonable prices too.

An amazing hotel. The jungle is in the courtyard. Sooooo beautiful. We will go back. The location is great, the staff is very friendly and offer amazing pina coladas at the bar. The breakfast included with the room is an extravagant buffet and the coffee is wonderful (like all of costa rica). A perfect little hotel.

Room Tip: There are only hammocks on some rooms in the back.

Our reservation was set up by a travel agent and I was very anxious and worried about the hotel after reviewing it on the website - had non-refundable reservations for 5 nights. Well we were pleasantly surprised. The gardens are beautiful and full of birds and sometimes monkeys. There is a nice little swimming pool which I did not see on the website. The rooms (We had a deluxe room) are very nice, spacious and have a lot of storage for longer visits. The items the rooms are lacking are a coffee maker (but they serve coffee starting at 6:30 in the restaurant), a blow dryer (but you can check one out at the front desk and typically keep for the duration), and a phone (who needs one on vacation). The staff were wonderful and very helpful. We loved Luis is the dining room (dinner and late lunches). Also Jockson in the kitchen! Always smiling and saying hello. The front desk folks were outstanding too. We had the best time out of 4 cities in Manual Antonio - walking distance to many restaurants and Manuel Antonio National Park - we went there just to use the beaches - beautiful.

The food in the restaurant is one of the best values around. Very good food and service. Breakfast, which was included was excellent and cook to order.

Room Tip: If you don't mind stairs I would recommend our room which was upstairs and quiet - #12. Nice bi...
