I have stayed at the Falls for an extended week-end in 2012, and now 2013, both during the first week-end in May. Nothing but wonderful experiences. Restaurant is the best in Manuel Antonio, boasting daily specials like Chilean Seabass for around $14. A great breakfast is included in the reasonable room rate. The grounds on this property are amazing. Seems like they built the hotel into forest without disturbing anything. I have seen as much wildlife on the hotel property as I have in all my travels throughout Costa Rica. Literally over 100 monkeys, birds, and many other native species. I woke up one morning to monkeys on my hot tin roof. Then they put on their show, leaping from the roof to a hanging branch, one after another. If you are into landscaping and flora, you will be floraed. The Falls is nothing to look at from the outside. A non-distinct facade that conceals a gem. You can walk across the street for a fabulous mountaintop ocean view. You can walk, drive, or take the bus to the National Park, or the public beach. If you walk, the climb back up the mountain road (sidewalk) can be a bit strenuous and you should be in decent shape to attempt it. I've seen guests walk down and take the bus back. Service is very good. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have stayed in a single and also with a buddy. Both rooms were very comfortable, with flatscreen cable tv, fridge, and nice showers. The pool offers bar and restaurant service, and we had no problems receiving wifi in our rooms. I almost regret writing this, because the Falls is small, and I'd hate to hear "no vacancy" while planning my next trip.

Room Tip: I would recommend the rooms nearest the pool/restaurant, although I have never stayed in the more secluded bungalow rooms at the back of the property.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Falls. It was my birthday week and I could not have asked for a more special week. We arrived on Saturday evening after a short drive from San Jose. We could have flown in and next time we will but the drive was a fun experience. The outside of the resort does not do it justice. As soon as we entered the property we were enthralled. The grounds were immaculate and truly a Jungle Experience. We were greeted by the staff and after that we were greeted by name every day. The check-in was a breeze and we were assisted with our luggage to our room.

The room was a roomy and well laid out with a fun open shower and lots of storage space in the closet as well as an AC Unit. The room was very clean and each evening the staff left a towel in the shape of an animal of flower for us to enjoy. The room opened out on to the grounds which were covered in jungle trees, flowers and fun paths to adventure onto. We logged onto the Wifi from our balcony and said goodbye to our colleagues at work and ventured out onto the grounds.

It was late so we worked with the well informed staff to plan out our activities for the next few days. Their knowledge of the local and surrounding area and which tours to choose was very helpful to newbies like us. Once that was complete we decided to grab a drink at the bar and some dinner at the restaurant. We were greeted by Luis our waiter and he made us feel at home and we looked over the menu for our selections. We were interrupted as everyone in the restaurant crowded around the table next to ours to observe a porcupine baby putting on a show in the trees next to the restaurant. What a treat but this was just the beginning. We had an excellent meal of fresh fish and an incredible desert called the Volcano Cookie ( i had this every night we were there).

Our evenings were restful with relaxing on the grounds or at the bar and a few more nights at the restaurant. We had the included breakfast every morning and it was well prepared and sufficient to give a great start to the day. Andreas greeted us every morning and soon learned what we preferred for our morning meal and our coffee.

We spent a couple of days by the pool and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and proximity to the bar for drinks and appetizers. We enjoyed walking the grounds each day several times seeing Toucans and the troupe of monkeys that migrated through the grounds every day on their way to the beach.

We could have not asked for a better experience for our vacation. We have both traveled all over the world and this is one of the best all around experiences we have had. The combination of a clean and "right-sized" room along with well appointed grounds and a fantastic restaurant was just what we needed. The knowledge and friendliness of the staff made it a joy to stay at The Falls. Everyone spoke very good English which made it very comfortable for us. We had easy access to other very interesting restaurants in the surrounding area and several great adventures including the El Santuario Canopy Adventure Tour

I would highly recommend The Falls for anyone venturing to Costa Rica.

Room Tip: The price difference is so small go for the best room you can get. Most of the rooms are in the Jungle with short walks to the restaurant and pool and a true Jungle experience

The Falls Resort was an enhanting surprise nestled in beautiful lush tropical and exotic foliage. During our week stay the white face monkeys traveled through delighting us with playful overhead swinging on three separate occasions. The staff was welcoming and eager to please us. The resturant staff knew our names and were very attentive. Our room was clean, well appointed, and its special charm provided a perfect escape. Ahh, I'm home now fully energized and ready to return to work after this most relaxing yet playful vacation. Enjoy, it's a given!

Room Tip: We stayed within the natual foliage park setting. I enjoyed listening to the birds and natual sounds....

Expectations of this hotel were not met. Booked trip because of online advertising. Thought we were at the wrong hotel when we arrived, outside looks very unkempt. Our room above the kitchen was priced the same as the bungalows and had no privacy or quietness. When we arrived, the staff did not offer any information...just apologized that it was raining. No concierge to help with bags. We were told to go through the dining room (at dinner time) towing our bags. Dangerous stairwell. We thought the waterfalls was near the property (hence the name "The Falls"). Based on this trip, we would not go back.

Room Tip: Don't take the stairway rooms over the kitchen!

Pulling up in front of the Falls is less than impressive, from the road it doesn't seem like much. Once you take a few steps down into the lobby you discover that it is much more than meets the eye.
We were traveling with our 3 boys and stayed in two rooms at the Falls. The rooms were spacious and beautiful. The grounds were lush and well maintained. The pool is small but adequate considering the hotel doesn't have very many rooms. The location of the falls is very convenient, it is fairly central between Manuel Antonio National Park and Quepos. It is very easy to get to either by catching the public bus that stops almost in front of the hotel.
There are several restaurants in walking distance including El Avion but if you want to stay in the hotel restaurant is very good. They have a good dinner menu and a different special every night and the pricing is fair.
As with much of Costa Rica, the staff make the experience special. On our first night we met Luis in the restaurant, he was so good to our boys the entire time we were there. All of the staff were warm and welcoming, always making sure we had everything we needed. Our son was working on writing a postcard to send to his Spanish teacher, several of the staff helped him make sure his Spanish was written correctly...they seemed to enjoy his interest in learning the language.
I would certainly recommend the Falls to anyone going to Manuel Antonio...and would certainly stay there again.
