“Hands down...... The Best Value in Jaco!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2011

We have been coming to Jaco for about 3 years and have stayed at Tommy G's about 6 times. Barb and Tommy own the place and personally run and operate it. They take tremendous pride in keeping their hotel in tip top shape since they call it home as well. Everything is well maintained, especially the pool. This hotel should command at least $80-$120 a night but their a fair couple and make their rates very affordable for all budgets. Happy repeat customers Rick Reyes & Ivannia Chacon

If you are looking for a hotel that is clean and spacious with all the amenities, then look no further than Tommy G's. Tommy and Barb who own Tommy G's were the most friendly and gracious hosts ever. The rooms are big. The showers are big. There is a kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, dishes, etc. Tommy keeps the grounds aesthetically landscaped and clean. The pool and service is simply the best.
Tommy G's is within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants downtown. My girlfriend and I got up early and walked to a cafe for coffee and then walked to the beach.
We give Tommy G's our highest recommendation if you are looking for a great place to stay.

This a great place to stay. The rooms are exceptional clean and yard always manicured. We can not say enough about Tommy and Barb. We had the pleasure of being their guests for one month but it felt more like family.

We stayed at Tommy G's for 2 nights earlier this month. The owners were so friendly and helpful with hints about the local area and beyond. Tommy G's is in a great location in Jaco, just off the main street so nice and private but with all amenities and beach just a stroll away. The pool area was lovely and our apartment was spotlessly clean with everything we needed in the kitchen for our short stay. Would definitely recommend!

This year we chose Costa Rica as our winter location. Please read our forthcoming reviews from small B and B s to 5 star resorts....

Tommy G. Yes. it was good. But we would like to call it WELCOMING BARBARA instead of TOMMY G, as our hostess Barbara was a true gem and took a lot of time to sit down with us to give us all information about Jaco and more personal needs.

To start > This is a very small hotel, on a VERY GOOD LOCATION in central Jaco. We could see the sea from our terrace and everything you would like to experience in Jaco is within a five minute walk. The suite is perfectly fitted out. From a soft couch to all the utencils one might need while cooking, it s all there. The sleeping room of our suite had a great and VERY comfortable bed, choice of FANS or AIRCO.

This couple has made a good hotel, it is family run, but has the Howard Johnsons kind of feel. Strange to write the review as there is NOTHING WRONG with rthis location, but somehow there are no sparks. Hostess Barbara is a true gem. She gave us great restaurant tips, made sure we where comfortable, and was fun and intelligent about her personal life, moving from the States to Jaco Costa Rica.

The suites are as mentioned excellent, there is a pool and landscaped garden that is I have to say PRISTINE. Actually that is the word for this great location > P R I S T I NE. Everything is SO clean and SO organised, we just felt like cleaning the room and folding our sheets before we left, as to not interrupt the 100 % organised perfect atmosphere.

When we came home after dinner, and assured ourselves of no other guests being there, we met Tommy, who told us that skinny dipping in the ppol is not the way to go. All fair, we do not want to shy away any one by having a dip nude. ITS NOT BEEN THE FIRST TIME he said, and yes, we believe it.

Anyway, the rooms are IMMACULATE and so are the grounds, landscaped garden and pool. It is all perfect and Barbra make a very good and social hostess. Having said all this, we do have a point of critique and a tip. Critique> The prices on the website are not accurate. It was 10 dollars extra as stated when we made a reservation.

TIP> Barbra, PLEASE throw in some personality, being spotless and pristine is not what it is all about. Yes, we recommend your great hotel to anybody we know, but why not a wildly braided multi colored floormat in front of the suite door? Why not some piece of locally painted - bad burt colorfull - portraitin the kitchen, or even a pile of cocunuts, seashells and bananas in the living area of the suite?

The conclusion of our stay is that the rooms and hospitality CAN NOT BE BETTER, but our personal taste is a little more quirky, but than again, that is a personal taste. We recommend this place, as all is perfect, but next time please surprise us a bit more?

Where do I begin? My girlfriend and I had an extended hiatus in Jaco en route to Manuel Antonio which never worked out. Barb was more then happy to show us around the hotel and we decided, we were home. Barb and Tommy are living the dream in Jaco with their humble abode. They realized jaco without the sun is poor at best but made it a point to make us happy. They lent us their umbrellas and gave us their personal coffee supply to give us our well needed pick me up in the morning. We were the only people staying in the hotel for our three nights there. The rooms are spotless and barb comes in every morning to personally freshen up and replenish any supplies. The kitchens are fully stocked with utensils and pots and pans. The pool is immaculate and barb and tommy freshen up the premises every morning. They have a guard from midnight til the morning so you always feel safe. Also right in the center of town which is perfect for people watching. Highly recommend Tommy Gssssssssssss.

We've stayed at Tommy G's twice now, once at the beginning of March and once at the end of April. Both times we enjoyed our stay immensely. We have three young children (4 yrs old, 2 yrs old, and 9 months old) and found this to be the perfect place to stay with them. Our ground floor suite had a fully equipped kitchenette, cable TV, air conditioning, fans, wireless internet, a separate bedroom, and bathroom with shower and hot water. Everything is in excellent condition, clean, and the bed is very comfortable.

We love the pool, although as everywhere in Costa Rica you have to be careful with young children not to leave them unsupervised outside as the pool is not fenced. There is a gazebo and grassy area outside where the kids can run around. The hotel backs onto a river, so there are no neighbours and no noise on the back. There is a large structure that looks like it's under construction on one side, but there is no construction going on there currently as the owner ran out of money (so don't be worried about early morning construction noise, as there isn't any!) The yard has lots of plants and flowers (including a pineapple! ask Barbara to show you) and is a beautiful place to relax.

Barbara and Tommy are the owners, and Barbara is super nice and also respectful of your space. We had to cancel a reservation we had made because I hurt my back and couldn't travel, and she sent me a get well soon e-card! She is friendly with the kids and seems to enjoy having them around, and we had no trouble changing our reservation for a week later when my back was better. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the kitchenette.

The hotel is very secure, as they only allow guests into the hotel, which includes the yard and the pool. Tommy and Barbara live on the premises, and they hire a night guard as well.

The hotel is a block from the beach (very easy to walk) and right off the main street of Jaco, easy walking distance to restaurants and shops.

We thoroughly enjoyed both our stays there, and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much, Barbara! You're the best!
