Just got back to Doce Lunas (2nd time in the year) with my girlfriend and family and always is a pleasure to stay here, amazing service, beautiful and comfortable rooms, delicious food and drinks at restaurant, nature all around the hotel and don't forget the pool, if you want to enjoy privacy with family you have to stay here, forget about the city and have a great time of relaxing! Always need to come back, 1st option ever...

Every year we bring our group back here for our annual retreat. And every year our needs and expectations are met and exceeded.

We have traveled all over CR, and you just can't find a better boutique hotel experience combined with proximity to the beach, nightlife, wildlife and shopping. Downtown Jaco and Jaco Beach is a 10 minute walk or a 2 minute car ride. You can bask in the tranquility of the gardens or the crystal clear pool, or take a short stroll downtown to find shopping, fantastic restaurants and nightlife.

Speaking of food, you don't even need to leave the resort! The food is excellent, fresh and local. We were sitting having breakfast one morning when this man comes walking in from the parking area with a large chest of red snapper he had JUST caught that morning! Needless to say we ate like royalty. My husband loves fish and they generously accommodated him with another juicy snapper.

Housekeeping does a great job and they are ninja's! I would leave my room for just a few moments to go to the front desk and ask a question, and they had been in and out of my room.

The hotel is very earth conscious. They grow many of the things they serve, and purchase from local farmers and ranchers. The encourage water conservation yet are also happy to give you as many towels as you need.

The setting is what I'd call "manicured jungle". It's beautiful, lovely, serene and wild. A troop of white face monkeys come through everyday, and I must have take hundreds of pictures of flowers and butterflies.

From the wonderful girls at the front desk that would not let up until your need was met, to the cooking and serving staff that seemed to enjoy us eating their food as much as we did, to the groundskeeping staff that are always working, to the head of that department making us essential oils and soap made from the flower of a tree on the property, to the ownership that were always on site and available....it was first class all the way.

I strongly recommend you bring your group there and soon!

Room Tip: Monkey's LOVE mangos & drop them on metal roofs of single level! It's cute the first time, but a little loud at 6am!

We stayed at DoceLunas to attend our friends wedding, which was hosted by the hotel. The hotel property is beautifully maintained and is the perfect mix of luxury and jungle! Just outside our hotel room door we saw amazing birds, iguanas, monkeys, cool spiders, and bats! It was so special to see the wildlife up close. When I mentioned to Chris, the owner, that we were interested in seeing wildlife he hooked us up with a personal tour guide (Raul!) that was VERY knowledgeable and affordable and we got to see some amazing critters on our tour.

All of the staff at the hotel were really friendly, by the end of the trip we felt like family. The drinks at the bar were tasty (thanks Shirley!), and the food was great. The front desk staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about local attractions (thanks Carmen!) and helped us fill out our itinerary as we went.

Finally, the wedding was beautiful and the newlyweds were happy! It was a great trip!
