“Favorite Souvenir Shop!”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Amazing little souvenir shop on the main drag in Jaco! Lots of items that you cant find in other souvenir stores. The other stores I visited seemed like they all carried the same things? Staff was friendly and conversational - knew a lot about local artists and had interesting stories to tell about each piece. Enjoyed a refreshing iced coffee while I shopped :) Don't miss the Costa Rican licorice or the Fruity Monkey Poop!

“best souvenir shop in Jaco and best coffee in world!!!”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

If you want a GREAT cup of joe while in Jaco, don't walk, run to The Costa Rica Coffee Experience. Not to mention, if you want original art or non-standard souvenirs , this is the place to go. All the other shops in town sell the same stuff. Go look in one,... and then come get some monkey poop!

“Bad iced coffee!!”
Reviewed June 14, 2013 via mobile

We must have gone at the wrong time because we didn't experience anything like most of these reviews! There was no coffee tasting. We asked if they had coffee to drink and he said they have hot or iced. He then poured our 2 iced coffees from a dirty looking carafe that had likely been sitting there a long time. Not at all the experience we were looking for. We didn't even drink the iced coffees because they were pretty awful. We were hoping for some really good coffee!! A big miss. Overall, it looked like they had some nice crafts and souvenirs, but the coffee was hours old and quite disgusting. A waste of 6 bucks.

Sorry to hear about your experience at our store. From your comment, I don't know if you had asked for a coffee sample or not, but unless we are just opening and the coffee isn't ready yet or we are closing and so don't have any coffee made, we always have samples available. We generally offer to everyone who expresses any interest in our coffee selection. So sorry you didn't get to try our different Costa Rican coffees, they really are good.

In terms of the ice coffee, we Cold Brew the ice coffee that we serve. That means it is brewed in cold water and put in the fridge. We don't pour it from a carafe or use a coffee pot (that is our hot coffee) and it doesn't 'get old' after a couple hours like hot brewed coffee does. So this part of your comment confused me as it does not sound like our shop. In any case, most people love the Cold Brewed Ice Coffee but there are always exceptions. I wish you would have told us as we would have tried to make it right.

I hope the rest of your experiences in Costa Rica were great.

“Great Gifts & Coffee Too”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

Like everyone else, when we travel we like to bring back some gifts for family and friends. Jaco, like other tourist destinations has plenty of places to buy souvenirs and gifts - however, The Costa Rica Coffee Experience is probably one of the best stores we visited while in Jaco. It's tiny, but jam packed with carefully curated items.

We bought some beautiful pewter metal art, unique t-shirts (apparently designed by the owner), and even a hand made sling shot. We also bought some pineapple licorice and coffee but it tasted so good that we kept it for ourselves instead of giving it away as gifts...oops!

“Fruity monkey poop you will want to sniff”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

I was so pleased to find this store in the midst of a bunch of other crappy and unworthwhile souvenier shops. They had so much that I wanted to buy that I had a tough time deciding. A co-worker of mine asked me to bring back some genuine rain forest Costa Rican vanilla extract and this is the only place I found it.
