Owner description: Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

We had a great lunch and visit here as part of a Celebrity Century excursion. Not knowing what to expect we were thrilled with the beautifully landscaped tropical gardens. Landscaped out of the jungle one cannot imagine the beauty without witnessing it first hand. The walkways - spotless - man made waterfalls and steps to get the best view were outstanding. Congratulations to the Stannards for their insight and creativity. Bravo

We had a wonderful lunch at Pura Vida Gardens. The setting is wonderful and after a shot stroll we came to the scenic overlook of the Costa Rica seaside, forests and a beautiful waterfall. This tour was part of a cruise excursion.

This American owned "botanical garden' was a rip off. They charge $20 to walk around for less than a mile on cement walkways just to look at flowers (not even named) which you can see if you walk down a nicely landscaped road or take a walk in the forest. It was a joke. Of the "3" waterfalls, one was basically dry (and man made), the other wasn't much to jump and shout about (compared to many Costa Rica waterfalls) and the third was beautiful but quite far away. If you're looking for a view of the ocean, just pull over on your way up the road. $20 can go much further somewhere else - don't waste your time or money.

Very well designed, kept and beautiful gardens. Take your time to stroll, and go down to the waterfall. DO NOT HURRY.
