We just returned from a six night stay at casa Barro and already miss it. Jeff is so attentive and is always available to help in any way. The house is in the perfect location for checking out all the amazing beaches up and down the coastline. We loved being surrounded by the jungle and also hearing the waves crashing during the night. Our kids loved the pool and felt like we were living in a tree house. Saw lots of wildlife while sitting on the balcony.a short walk and you are on a beautiful soft black sand beach. Lots of activities close by like snorkeling, zip lining, hiking cahuita national park, surfing,. Puerto viejo is so close and is a very lively town, lots of great restaurants,. We are already trying to plan our next trip and will definitely stay at Casa Barro again.

Casa de barro was the perfect home base for 4 senior ladies looking to experience all that the Caribbean side of CR has to offer. It is a comfortable walk to the beach with it's silky black sand and town where there are so many great places to eat and shop. Although, it was hard to pull ourselves away from the pool in this lush jungle paradise.
Jeff is a wonderful host and was readily available to answer any questions, assist with other bookings and share his knowledge and love for the area.
my only regret was that the stay wasn't long enough.Hope to return
You can tell Jeff has poured heart and soul into this place. The house has everything you might need and the grounds and gardens are really beautiful, especially from the view by the pool. He's also a great host, never more than a few minutes away and very knowledgeable about the Puerto Viejo area.
It's an easy walk to the beach which has the finest, softest sand I've ever walked on. You can walk or bike to many restaurants and points of interest and it's a short drive to lots of other great things to do. My friends and I say two thumbs up! Or three, because there were three of us. Or six because we each have two thumbs...
We had a tremendous time here. Jeff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and his house is in a prime location. We biked into Puerto Viejo with ease and had easy access to Cocles, Punta Uva, and Manzanillo via rental car (no more than 20 min drive). Thanks to the setting of the home you got all that, plus a sense of privacy and seclusion off the main road. I'd recommend Casa de Barro to any that plan on making a trip to Costa Rica's south Caribbean. Oh yeah, the private pool is pretty nice too!
