Tierra de Sueños was all that we hoped for and more. We went to celebrate our wedding aniversary and would recommend the place to anyone that is a nature lover. One acclaration: Tierra de Sueños is in the jungle, very close to the beach, so some insects have to be expected, but the owners have used the beautiful surrounding to all it´s advantages and it was a comfortable pleasure to stay there. The bungalows are great and romantic, the bed is soooo comfortable, the whole place is very clean and well maintained, and the front porchlike with the hammocks was our favorite spot to hang out. The owners are incredibly nice an are always there for whatever you need and give great tips. We even ordered some food and it was very delicious! We would definitely come back and would recommend Tierra de Sueños, once again, to anybody that is looking for this type of accomodations. No fancy lobby, no air conditioning (didn´t need it either), no tv, just lush walkways filled with butterflies and secluded bungalows ;) Thanks for making our stay so special!

They've got more than just fun and games...how about friendly people, amazing food, pristine beaches, exotic wildlife and delicious beer. Playa Chiquita is a state of living that everyone should experience and there is no better place to call home while your there then Tierra de Suenos.

The bungalows are situated in the absolute best location...right across the street from some of the best beaches in the world, next door to a top notch specialty grocery store (try the homemade roasted chicken and croissants), walking distance to a half dozen outstanding reasturants and a short taxi ride to the bustling nightlife of Puerto Viejo. I'm telling you, my friends, its pure heaven.

We checked out every place along the coast both in our search for a hotel and once we were there and nothing compares to Tierra de Suenos. The bungalows are immaculate. The beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in, with luxury sheets and canopy mosquito nets that give you plenty of room. Combine this with an overwhelming amount of oxygen courtesy of the sea and dense jungle foliage and you are talking about the best nights sleep you'll ever have! I would definitely suggest the casita bungalow. Having a kitchen was awesome...you can buy some fresh produce, rice and beans and try your hand at some of the dishes you'll enjoy around town.

Wake up from your restful slumber to a breakfast that can't be beat. Banana fritters, fresh fruit and local coffee will kick your day off right then its a short walk to the ocean and miles of beaches to explore and enjoy. We had all sorts of activities planned (i.e. the obligatory canopy tour) and did not get around to any of them. Thats not to say they're not readily available, but there is so much to do and see for free that we never got around to it. Grab some homemade empanadas, a six pack of Imperial, a good book and see what Pura Vida living is all about.

One last thing, the folks who run Tierra De Suenos are the nicest most helpful down to earth people you'll ever meet. Its a great feeling knowing that you have an informal tour guide at your disposal to suggest restaurants and beaches or to call you a taxi...its invaluable.

So do yourself a favor and get down to the Caribbean cost of Costa Rica, stay at Tierra de Suenos and experience a lifestyle that will have you counting down the days until you can get back again. You betta know dat!

We had an absolutely wonderful time. We stayed for 5 nights and were so glad we chose Tierra de Suenos. Brendan & Angie were so welcoming. They were available at any time to help us with any questions at all. We went pretty much without having anything planned and they helped us find wonderful things to do, ways to get around, and great restaurant and beach recommendations. The bungalow was fabulous. Definitely the cleanest, nicest place we stayed in Costa Rica (which included 5 more hotels). We loved their friendly dogs. We would definitely recommend the white water rafting trip to get to or from Puerto Viejo to or from other destinations. We took it to Arenal and were so glad we did. We also thoroughly enjoyed El Loco Natural for dinner. Not the most authentic "comida tipica", but we were ready for a switch and it was absolutely delicious. Playa Chiquita is a 5-10 minute bike ride from "downtown" Puerto Viejo - just the right distance for us. An easy trek but far enough from the business to really relax. And gorgeous beaches. We would definitely recommend it.

Just returned from my honeymoon to Costa where we stayed as newlyweds in the romantic and private Casita suite at Tierra de Suenos. A perfect balance of seclusion and community. Angie and Brendan are lively, positive and knowledgeable hosts with a focus on comfort, nourishment and relaxation. We were amazed with the location and the bungalow experience. A perfect distance outside of the often crowded town on a lovely beach nestled amongst rainforest canopy flora and fauna. Anyone and everyone should make an adventure to Tierra de Suenos!

Our stay at Tierra de Suenos was relaxing. We are very glad we stayed away from Puerto Viejo (we have stayed there on 2 previous vacations & is a bit different now) because our hosts made it easier to fully enjoy Costa Rica. The cabinas were clean, bedding was fresh, and grounds were pristine/gorgeous. It was nice to have breakfast provided and Angie and Brendan were always ready for helpful tips & advice. They are wonderful people and reminded me of friends I have back home.
Tierra de Suenos is not a resort style accomodation, which is why we stayed there so we could stay away from "typical tourists." Given this fact our hosts went out of their way to accomodate our needs. If you are a nature lover and do not want a resort style place to stay, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. We can't wait to go back!!!

We stayed 5 nights at Tierra de Suenos, and it really does live up to the reviews on this site. It was exactly what we were looking for -- a friendly, relaxed B&B with comfy and beautiful bungalows tucked into the jungle. Brendan and Angie have done a great job making the bungalows cozy. The fans were enough even in the heat of the day because the jungle canopy keeps the area shady and cool. The mosquito nets worked perfectly and we slept like babies.

It's the sounds that I remember most -- like the rain drops still dripping from the lush branches long after the rain has stopped, and the calls of howler monkeys echoing through the jungle before sunrise. We loved the fact that we were in a jungle setting, yet also close to the activities that Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo have to offer. We rented bikes from TdS and were able to bike to both towns in about 20 minutes. The beach, Playa Chiquita, is a 5-minute walk, while other beaches are just a little further. Breakfast at TdS was tasty, and there are a couple fantastic restaurants just a few steps from TdS, -- we had some wonderful, memorable meals at Casa de Pan and Jungle Love.

For us, Tierra de Suenos really was the perfect jungle getaway.

I stayed at Tierra de Suenos for three nights, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's located outside of Puerto Viejo, which is the largest town in the area (though it's still quite small), accessed by a dirt road, and a two minute walk from a gorgeous beach.

The bungalow was nice, very well-maintained, and complete with a bed, safe (crucial in Costa Rica), some space to hang clothes, and a bathroom with a hot shower. Best of all was the porch. It's covered, so you can sit out there in a hammock and watch the occasionally spectacular downpour, as well as the animals flying or running past (listen for the howler monkeys). The owners, Brendan and Angie, were fantastic hosts, hospitable, quick with a recommendation and full of lots of good, funny stories about the area.

It's not for everyone, however. Bear in mind that you're in the rain forest, so, yes, it could rain considerably with little warning. Because the humidity is so high, everything is a bit damp, from sheets to clothes, and nothing will ever dry. And yes, the bugs will come for you. The mosquito net on my bed worked like a charm, though there were a couple gaps in the wall of the bungalow that a few enterprising insects, and one lizard, used to get in. Naturally, there is no TV or air conditioning, so if you require that, you'll need to go elsewhere.

But if you're looking to immerse yourself in the jungle, and have easy access to the beach, definitely try this place. Added bonus: Because of its rustic charm, it attracts likeminded, more-than-average adventurous travelers, who sometimes hang out in the main house, drinking beers, talking, and, of course, getting attacked by mosquitoes.

Also, one other caveat. If this is your first time to Costa Rica and you're driving to TdS by car, try to avoid making the trip after dark. It's pretty treacherous. Also worth noting: CR doesn't do street names of addresses, so you need a GPS or things are going to turn very un-fun very quickly.
